Responsible for the overall management of the Environmental Services Department in the facility. Responsible for successfully coordinating and supporting all activities of the department. Works with all levels of the facility staff in all matters relating to the cleanliness of the facility. Ensures hospital meets all Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) guidelines.
Planning work schedules, hours, areas of work and job duties.
Responding to requests, anticipating needs and recommending additional services when appropriate.
Assigning tasks to workers and inspecting completed work for conformance to standards.
Recording employees' hours worked on time cards or time sheets.
Ordering cleaning supplies and equipment.
Participating in and adding value to hospital committee (i.e. Infection Control/Safety Committee).
Ensuring all (JCAHO) guidelines are followed by staff.
Demonstrating knowledge of and adherence to EEO policy.
Undertaking self-development activities.
Demonstrating regular, predictable attendance at the jobsite or location
Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum of 3 years related experience required. Four year college degree preferred. Must be proficient in the use of Windows based office software Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
