Since 2006 Carolina House has been providing high-quality care for males, females, and all gender inclusive battling eating disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions. We provide programming at three locations, with our two residential treatment settings in an idyllic, rural farmhouse in Durham, North Carolina, and a community-based day treatment and intensive outpatient center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The essential functions of this position include:

  • Growing the lines of service as defined by management by developing/retaining referrals from physicians and other key non-physician referral sources.

  • Collaborate closely with hospital discharge planners, social workers, case managers, physicians and management, as well as provide education to staff to generate referral sources.

  • Work collaboratively with all levels of facility and division sales leadership to support the organization mission and revenue goals by selling of service line attributes, processes and outcomes to consumer, physician and market facility groups/individuals.

  • Collaborate with facility and division leaders, to evaluate, analyze and interpret market utilization data for facility service lines.

  • Ensure that referral priorities are identified and in line with the vision and strategic goals of the organization.

  • Collaborate with division and/or market physician services, facility leaders and medical staff leadership to develop sales and retention strategies for facility services.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Five or more years related experience in healthcare business development role, minimum of 1 year supervisory responsibility.

Our international development team designs and implements programs across a wide range of sectors to help low- and middle-income countries and communities address complex problems and improve the lives of their citizens. Global health is a core focus of RTI International's mission to improve the human condition by turning knowledge into practice and our health programming focuses on the following areas: Health Systems Strengthening, Infectious Diseases, Neglected Tropical Diseases, Non-communicable Diseases, MERLA & Data Systems/ICT. The Director, Business Development will lead all business development activities for the Global Health Team, one of the sub-divisions of the larger International Development Group. We are looking for a dynamic business development expert with proven success leading, networking, and implementing key business development priorities. Lead: * Lead business development strategies and tactical activities for International Development Group (IDG)'s Global Health Division (GHD) in collaboration with the Technical Portfolio Leads. This may include identifying, researching, and analyzing new opportunities and leading and supporting business capture. * Manage, lead, and write proposals for work funded by USAID and other key donors and clients. * Lead intra-group and cross company collaboration and coordination efforts related to business development and strategic planning. * Lead the identification and qualification of prospective teaming and strategic industry partners as needed. Network: * Explore business opportunities in key GHD markets to include countries with an existing RTI presence or new countries. Advise on the selection of new capture markets over time. * Responsible for identifying, understanding, and developing potential clients to include host government and private sector; identifying and qualifying key partner organizations and possible staff; and evaluating competitor activities. Responsible for keeping potential clients and key contacts 'warm'. * Represent GHD to donors, private sector companies, foundations, and professional and voluntary associations, identifying synergies and developing partnerships and alliances as appropriate. Presents and speaks effectively on IDG's and RTI's broader institutional capabilities. * Lead the development and support of customer relationships in coordination with IDG, GHD, and portfolio leadership either directly or through the existing Business Development infrastructure (Agency/Domain Teams, Capture efforts). Implement: * Participate in analysis and assist with the maintenance of the aggregated GHD pipeline in relation to strategic initiatives, client and GHD revenue objectives. * Identify and develop public-private partnerships (PPPs) and cost-share alliances with private sector, foundation, and non-governmental partners. * Communicate business development intelligence gathered to IDG technical divisions and field staff in a timely and open manner. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree and 18 years of relevant experience in business development and international development, Master's degree and 14 years of relevant experience in business development and international development, PhD and 10 years of relevant experience in business development and international development. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: * Thorough knowledge of the Federal marketplace (budgeting procurement and grant processes) as well as extensive experience and contacts in the Government research and services industry. * Excellent analytical, oral and written communications, presentation, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work in a team environment and at all levels of the organization. * Ability to gain stakeholder support and to operate independently without supervision. * Proven capability to establish a solid working relationship with customers, other industry partners, technical staff, managers and peers both at HQ and regional office locations. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * The ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize/manage multiple tasks simultaneously. * Demonstration of the RTI Values and Lead Forward behaviors by all employees is critical to the Institute's success.
