Description:

Manage the resources and provide the leadership and supervision required in developing and delivering customized training and services for Workforce and Economic Development clients.

Essential Functions:

  • Customarily and regularly manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of Tulsa Tech, including: hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion and termination actions, and hiring as appropriate.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the WED strategic plan, in concert with the WED Leadership team and in accordance with District strategies. Ensure District strategic plan includes appropriate client services influence and work to create and maintain alignment of the WED strategic plan with District strategies.

  • Understand, articulate and reinforce appropriate District policies, school laws and government regulations; monitor compliance with all statutory regulation, Board policy, and District operating procedures.

  • Contribute, encourage and support innovative ideas and processes to improve productivity and service to customers; monitor the quality of department services; make recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Represent Tulsa Tech in the community and especially in networking meetings with clients and workforce training partners; increase Tulsa Tech exposure in the community and enhance potential enrollment in District programs.

  • Serve as steward for WED assets and funds; prepare and monitor budgets to assure fiscal accountability as well as operating efficiency and asset optimization.

  • Direct the development and implementation of a WED client services marketing plan in order to increase public awareness and ultimately demand for customized training and consulting programs and services.

  • Direct the development and implementation of a departmental marketing plan in order to increase public awareness and ultimately demand for WED programs and services.

  • Provide information, prepare reports and communicate as needed with the District administrative staff, the Board of Education and the State Department of Career and Technology Education.

  • Provide advice, guidance and leadership on matters affecting the inter-relationships among long-term programs, short-term programs, and industry specific programs.

  • Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervision and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite.

Position Requirements:

  • This position requires a minimum of seven years experience working in strategic planning, public relations, or management of a business or business group or in administration of a career tech institution, with at least 3 years in progressive leadership roles leading learning and development in a corporate or contract training organization.

  • ODCTE BIS certification or the ability to complete certification with 12 months required.

  • LERN Certified Contract Trainer Preferred.

  • Valid State Issued Driver's License

  • Bilingual is a plus

Education and Specialized Training:

Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree in School Administration and/or Oklahoma school administrator level certification preferred.

SPMS

Hiring Range:

Dependent on experience, plus additional $7,200 annual compensation for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.
