We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead The University of Texas at Austin's child development centers (UTCDC). The Director of the UTCDC is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operating child care centers to provide renowned services for University of Texas faculty, staff and students and State of Texas employees. This person must maintain the highest standards of quality care and facilitate research for campus departments. The director leads a staff of about 120 fulltime employees and 80 part-time student employees, and currently manages a budget of approximately $8,000,000.

Purpose
Manage relationships with parents and the university community for all locations. Supervise student/faculty participation in observations, research, internships and other academic projects. Ensures programs will be self-supporting. Provide overall leadership and direction for all centers. Administer, manage and plan for the program in all aspects of operations, staffing, training, evaluation, enrollment, tuition collection, record keeping, licensing regulations, health, safety, food service, fiscal concerns and accreditation.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategic vision for UT Child Development Centers in alignment with the university's goals and objectives.
Oversee all aspects of the operation of the child care centers
Provide services and look for opportunities to support the university community.
Develop and maintain budgets, monitoring expenses and identifying opportunities for cost-saving measures and revenue opportunities.
Ensure the highest quality standards in providing child care services to families that meet and maintain health and safety as well as state minimum and national accreditation standards.
Regularly assess and improve services, children's curriculum, fiscal stewardship, efficiency, and customer satisfaction and respond accordingly to feedback.
Recruit, train, and mentor a diverse team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., child development, education or related field)
7 years of relevant experience working at a licensed child care center.
7 years of experience in a supervisory or management role
5 years of experience in managing budgets
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in early childhood or child development
Experience with national accreditation
5+ years of relevant experience in a higher education

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.

Compliance:
