The primary responsibility of the Director, Treasury Services & Government Banking is to design, build, and lead a team of treasury professionals responsible for profitability, sales management, product development, client implementation, and ongoing customer support. This position drives the vision and strategy of Treasury Management and its delivery and execution across the organization and commercial client base.

The Director, Treasury Services & Government Banking will work with the appropriate Executive and Senior level officers to facilitate sales opportunities and manage operations of the department in conjunction with the overall bank strategy. This position requires exceptional interpersonal, analytical, and administrative skills, along with the ability to manage customer expectations, provide sales leadership direction, foster exceptional internal collaboration, and direct design/implementation and communication of all Treasury Management products and services. The position will also have direct reports that consist of Treasury Services Officers, Treasury Services Analysts and Manager of Government Banking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for directing all facets of Treasury Management sales, product/program development, pricing, implementation, and strategic plan development/execution

  • Creates and manages the overall financial operating plan for treasury management product, sales and client support teams including, but not limited to, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management

  • Effectively collaborates with various bank departments regarding portfolio management, sales, and client support objectives/initiatives

  • Develop and implement processes designed to improve and automate functions in order to optimize overall operational efficiency

  • Present new product and enhanced product recommendations/proposals to senior and executive management

  • Design and implement strategies targeted to promote the Treasury Management product offering, enhance customer retention, and expand cross-sell opportunities

  • Routinely perform competitive analysis and identify areas for competitive differentiation

  • Work closely with assigned third party vendors to ensure the department has updated product enhancements, accurate service level agreements, and precise metrics reporting

  • Stay current with and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of treasury management products and service offerings in the market

  • Responsible for adherence to all Bank, Compliance, and Regulatory policies/requirements

  • Identify, develop, and retain and outstanding talent

  • Stays abreast of pertinent regulatory and compliance issues and ensures adherence with all banking related laws and regulations. Protects all customer information and institution assets and complies with privacy and acceptable use policies

  • Other duties as assigned

Management Responsibilities:

Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Bank's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from accredited four-year college or university required. Master's Degree (MBA) preferred or five to ten years related experience and/or training.

Other Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in a Banking treasury services, sales, business development and/or private banking.

  • 3+ years in a Senior Management role managing top talent, strategy and budgets.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills - creating and executing business strategy and inspiring staff to deliver strong results.

  • Proven track record of facilitating progressive organizational change. technology.

  • Strong analytical abilities to analyze data and suggest recommendations.

  • Excellent judgment and problem solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution expertise.

  • Budgeting and strategic planning experience required.

  • Entrepreneurial leader to manage various complex projects simultaneously and meet set deadlines.

  • Strategic, collaborative leader who works effectively with senior leadership, board and middle manager.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication expertise and presentation skills with the ability to influence and engage others.

Responsibilities include: * Reviews reports and forms for quality control, clears exceptions or non-posted items. Balances reports, makes necessary computer entries. * Processes a variety of bank work including, but not limited to: daily stop payment suspects; returned deposited items and large dollar notifications; Reclamation Notices; Notice of Levy; Subpoenas; CD renewals; changes in customer accounts; IRA paperwork; Savings Bond Window Transaction Reports; verifications of deposit accounts; etc. * Reconciles various accounts to general ledger at pre-determined intervals. * Prepares various reports on a pre-determined schedule. * Prepares, types and mails customers notification forms of bank-originated entries and makes necessary posting to accounts and General Ledger. * Maintains and updates various logs, ledgers, registers and databases. * Researches customer orders and branch questions and processes work to resolve. Communicates answer to involved parties. * Responds in a timely manner to both internal and external customers with account questions, does research as necessary. * Posts work to General Ledger through a block as necessary. * Other related duties as assigned by Manager. Other Qualifications: * Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent. * Minimum of 2-3 years client service/support in Banking or related field. * Requires knowledgeable background of the bank's procedures and policies regarding retail and commercial banking function. * Thorough knowledge of branch operations, back office operations and procedures. * Working knowledge of compliance issues as they affect electronic banking. * Requires knowledgeable background of computer systems, the Internet and navigation through the Internet with various browsers and Internet Access Companies. * Demonstrates strong product knowledge and is able to explain features and benefits of each product/service. * Ability to identify client needs, recommend applicable products/services and close the sale. * Proven communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
