Job Summary and Qualifications

The Trauma Program Director works in concert with the Trauma Medical Director and hospital leadership to assure optimal trauma patient care services, quality outcomes, and compliance with local, state, and national standards for Trauma Center designation and verification. The Trauma Program Director continually strives to achieve successful outcomes for all care and programs associated with the trauma service, serves as operational director for all internal/external program initiatives and hospital, local, state and American College of Surgeons requirements. The Trauma Program Director is closely involved with administrative operations, financial support, clinical services, educational activities, outreach initiatives, and research activities of the Trauma Center.

What qualifications you will need:

Required Educations: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Exemptions may be approved with CNO System Council approval.

Preferred Education: Master's in Nursing

Required License/ Certifications:

• Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON.

• National Nursing Certification in area of specialty

• BLS Healthcare Provider

Required Experience: 2 years Trauma experience, 3 years management experience

Preferred Experience: Burn / Wound-care experience
