Peraton is seeking a Director of Technology Policy and Cross-Corporate Initiatives who will report to the Senior Vice President, Government and Customer Relations, and will be responsible for crafting policy outcomes for cross-corporate issue areas such as workforce, security, and federal procurement as well as monitor and advise on strategies associated with cyber and emerging technology. The role requires engagement with government stakeholders and influencers across the federal government. As the principal policy expert on cyber policy, this requires a breadth of understanding of cybersecurity policy and technologies, as well as a detailed understanding of the business Peraton delivers, the stakeholders who are influential, and the issues of impact. The successful candidate will have experience working in government relations, in cyber policy, and collaborating across corporate infrastructure teams. The role requires agility, flexibility, and the capacity to support multiple workstreams. Speed and efficiency are critical requiring the successful candidate to be a strong writer who can capture a breadth of information and insights in a succinct manner for C-suite and executive consumption. Additionally, as a key external representative of Peraton, candidate must embody Peraton's core values, always acting with integrity and trust, a "we before I" mindset, and honoring the missions we serve.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitor, research, and evaluate federal technology policy and legislation that affects Peraton's business and strategic goals.

  • Review and analyze proposed technology legislation and executive branch actions and provide recommendations for Peraton business actions and strategies.

  • Follow developments at DHS, CISA, NIST, US Cyber Command, ONCD, relevant congressional committees, DC tech think tanks, and DC tech advocacy organizations, and provide analysis and recommendations for Peraton leadership.

  • Liaise and partner across Peraton's business sectors and functional departments to coordinate corporate initiatives, specifically in the cyber and work force areas.

  • Collaborate with Government and Customer relations peers to develop and execute strategic engagement plans, including technical policy, legislative advocacy, and other outreach efforts with internal and external partners.

  • Collaborate with Peraton's Political Action Committee on congressional strategy and priorities.

  • Raise Peraton's profile in the Washington ecosystem as the nation's largest transformative enterprise IT provider and national security mission capability integrator.

  • Through research, analysis, and collaboration, ensure insights into key government influencers are captured, summarized, and articulated.

  • Liaise and partner across Peraton's sectors and functional departments to ensure content development across key influence sectors is aligned to corporate and business objectives.


  • Team player who is a self-starter, decisive, able to work independently, organize and prioritize daily workload in a fast-paced environment, has exceptional attention to detail and deadlines, outstanding judgement, and discretion, and is passionate about his or her work.

  • Bachelor's degree political science, international affairs, or a similar field with 16+ years, or a Master's and 14+ years' experience in government relations, including congressional staff on Capitol Hill and/or executive branch legislative affairs.

  • The ideal candidate will have one or more experiences in the following:

  • Federal government services industry.

  • Federal agency and/or congressional staff oversight expertise for Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and/or the Intelligence Community.

  • Established bipartisan relationships with Members of Congress and relevant committee staff.

  • Deep knowledge of the federal budget process, cybersecurity policy, legislative process, and appropriations.

  • Demonstrated success researching and crafting analytic assessments.

  • Impeccable communication skills, verbal and written, to communicate concisely and precisely confidently and comfortably with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills; data analytics a plus.

  • Ability to travel as required, up to 25%.

  • Local to the DC/Metro area

Salary Minimum: $97,500 Salary Mid: $195,000 Salary Maximum: $243,800 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Colorado Salary Minimum: $108,400

Colorado Salary Maximum: $263,100
