The Director of Team Member Development is responsible for leading the overall talent development strategy for Life Time. In this highly visible role, expertise in the following areas is key: upskilling, career development, performance management, and team performance coaching. This leader will direct a team of talent development professionals focused on providing skill and leadership development opportunities for our diverse workforce. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strategic vision, hands-on leadership, and a passion for driving continuous learning and growth.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Program Development

  • Develop and implement comprehensive talent development strategies that align with organizational goals, culture, and values.

  • Design and oversee skill and career development programs tailored to meet the needs and interests of our team members.

  • Establish metrics and evaluation criteria to assess the effectiveness of talent development initiatives and identify talent needs/gaps based on company growth and business objectives.

  • Own annual budget planning and justification process for talent development strategies

Talent Assessment and Performance Management

  • Implement effective talent assessment methodologies to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and development opportunities.

  • Drive performance management processes that promote accountability, feedback, and continuous improvement.

  • Continuously develop leadership capabilities of all Life Time leaders to maximize the performance of their teams

  • Establish and manage vendor relationships that support talent development strategy.

Education Delivery and Facilitation

  • Oversee the delivery of educational programs and workshops, leveraging both internal and external resources.

  • Facilitate engaging and interactive learning experiences to enhance employee skills and competencies.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of talent assessment methodologies, performance management processes, and learning technologies.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving results and delivering impactful talent development initiatives.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field

Years of Experience:

  • Proven experience (5-10 years) in talent development, leadership development, performance management, or related field, preferably in a large, multi-site organization.
