  • Director Vacancy #: 10-016 / 10028 Job Snapshot: The Director of Teaching & Learning for Alamogordo Public Schools is central to advancing the district's

educational objectives and is responsible for overseeing and managing the Teaching and learning offices.

This position demands an expert in various educational domains, from curriculum and instruction to

specialized areas like SPED and ELL. With responsibilities spanning instructional technology, budget

management, federal programs, assessment, and strategic planning, the Director is integral in shaping a

forward-thinking educational landscape.

Education and Experience Requirements: ? Valid New Mexico Teacher License and Administrator License

? MA in Education Administration EDS or Ph.D.

? Classroom and Administrator experience

? Proven experience in educational leadership, demonstrating an ability to elevate educational

standards and student achievement.

? Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a knack for fostering

collaborative and innovative educational environments. . Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: ? Provide visionary leadership in developing and maintaining premier educational programs and

services.

? Apply expertise in Curriculum and Instruction to ensure the highest standards of teaching and

learning district-wide.

? Collaborate with Special Education (SPED) and English Language Learner (ELL) programs, adapting

strategies to meet diverse student needs.

? Lead initiatives in Instructional Technology, integrating innovative tools and methods to enhance

learning experiences.

? Manage budgets effectively, aligning resources with educational priorities and ensuring adherence to

financial protocols.

? Coordinate Federal Programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and maximizing the impact of

federal funding on student outcomes.

? Implement robust assessment systems to evaluate and improve student learning, using data to

inform strategic decisions.

? Engage in comprehensive strategic planning, setting clear goals and charting the course for the

district's educational future.

? Oversees and monitors the implementation of systemwide strategic projects and initiatives and

monitors these initiatives and programs to ensure that they lead to high student achievement.

? Monitors education research, trends, and developments to support school improvement efforts and

program development.
