The Office of Human Resources is searching for a Director of Talent Acquisition. In this role, you will participate in the transformational efforts underway by leading a recruitment team in the design, development, and implementation of leading strategies in recruiting. You will support University hiring managers with the full lifecycle of recruitment by providing assistance to source, assess, and interview applicants, as well as extend offers. You will also develop processes to maintain compliance with EEO/AA and other applicable laws and regulations as required.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Establish overall direction and determine priorities for University recruiting and staffing, in a manner consistent with overall HR organizational strategy and objectives unique to specific customer groups.

  • Develop, lead and provide direction for a professional recruiting team that provides the university community with strategies and support aligned with the institution's core values, mission and vision.

  • Design and implement leading practice recruiting strategies and processes.

  • Build strong, credible relationships with hiring managers and critical partners, both internal and external to HR, in order to operate as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert.

  • Develop recruiting and assessment learning opportunities for campus partners.

  • Develop and implement metrics and tracking mechanisms to measure results to guide future performance.

  • Collaborate with HR managers to define integration processes that ensure seamless delivery of recruiting services.

  • Cultivate a talent pipeline using established referral networks, agencies and retained search firms as needed.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, a role model of collaboration for direct reports.

  • Ability to seek insight from others in the interest of a better outcome, a stand out colleague among peers and leaders.

  • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, keeping others informed a top priority.

  • Strong technical aptitude, with a desire to continually evaluate and improve processes.

  • Social media savvy, especially as pertains to sourcing of talent.

  • Excellent customer service tendencies, to both internal and external clients.

This role will be based in the corporate headquarters located in Pittsburgh, PA but also have responsibility for teams and customers located in Latrobe, PA as well as various locations around the globe. Primary customers are a $900 million Business Unit President, P&L Business Unit Leaders (General Managers), Sales and Manufacturing Leaders as well as Corporate Function Executive leaders and their organizations which include Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Office of the General Counsel and Corporate Relations, Research & Development and Strategic Sourcing Supply Planning.
