Job Description:

Heidrick & Struggles seeks a dynamic, innovative, yet results-oriented Director of Talent Acquisition, Americas. This individual will collaborate closely with the VP, Human Resources, Americas to modernize the Talent Acquisition function into a more proactive one that actively supports the business. They will work to establish an agile vision, strategy and roadmap for how the region identifies, engages, recruits and onboards talent across our two business lines: Executive Search and Heidrick Consulting, as well as for our robust, professional Corporate functions. The Americas region has just under 1,000 employees across 20 offices in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and Brazil.

A natural player/coach, the Director of Talent Acquisition, Americas will have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and evolving best-in-class talent acquisition and recruiting strategies in fast-paced, matrixed, lean environments, in partnership with leaders in the business. They will be instrumental in redefining the Talent Acquisition strategy and operating model for the region. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the adoption and use of analytics to fuel desired talent acquisition outcomes and find efficiencies. The Director will be particularly focused on our Analyst, Associate, and Engagement Manager Search roles, Corporate, and Heidrick Consulting non-consultant employees within the Americas region, though they will also have the opportunity to influence our overarching recruitment strategy. The ideal candidate will be able to bring forward innovative ideas from their experience in corporate talent acquisition leadership, but will also be comfortable living in the details by driving excellent execution, all while coaching and steering a lean recruitment team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver an effective, inclusive talent pipeline strategy to source and attract best-in-class talent to support the region strategy, in alignment with the global talent strategy, as well as current and future growth within the Americas region.

  • Proactively implement and manage an effective, flexible and scalable recruiting process to source and hire top-tier candidates in competitive markets within the Americas. Oversee and evolve the campus recruitment strategy to meet the changing needs of the business.

  • Build strong, credible relationships with stakeholders across the region, serving as trusted advisor and subject matter expert.

  • Develop, lead and manage a high-performing team of recruiters, with an eye towards continuous process improvement.

  • Partner with practice leaders, hiring managers, human resources colleagues and other key leaders to anticipate and plan for staffing needs.

  • Introduce innovative recruiting programs and processes to facilitate faster, higher-quality hiring; utilize data and analytics to elevate the function.

  • Work with key stakeholders within HR and cross-functionally, to assess, refine and evolve all facets of the Americas talent acquisition process, from employer branding to sourcing to assessing to onboarding, in order to enable Heidrick to acquire best-in-class talent.

  • Support the adoption and use of key talent acquisition metrics and analytics, and drive team behavior towards data-driven results and insights.

  • Report on market conditions, considerations and impacts to the broader leadership team.

  • Co-create, manage and champion an inclusive diversity recruitment strategy within the region, with an eye towards leveraging strengths of all talent. Collaborate and partner with other region talent acquisition teams on best practices, thought leadership and efficiencies within the function.

Pivotal Experience & Expertise

  • A proven talent acquisition leader and manager who functions at a high-level.

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and/or equivalent

  • 8 plus years of experience in talent acquisition within matrixed, corporate environments (professional services is a plus). Ability to implement robust business processes to ensure better planning, alignment and management of resources and decisions.

  • Understanding of best-in-class recruitment strategies and operations, coupled with a willingness and capability to roll up sleeves, dig in and solve problems

  • Proven success building and optimizing systematic talent acquisition functions through effective use of technology and metrics to drive insight generation. Track record of grounding talent acquisition KPIs, execution and decision-making in facts and data.

  • Builds rapport and credibility in order to function as a trusted business partner to leaders, providing perspective and sound judgment, and maintaining the highest levels of integrity and trust across the organization.

  • Experience coaching team members on both individual and team effectiveness in support of overarching business objectives.
