The Director of the Survivor Advocacy Program is charged with providing clinical and administrative leadership and expertise in the areas of interpersonal violence response including sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating/domestic violence, and stalking, as well as resource coordination for students affected by this type of violence. Represent office on university-wide committees as appointed, contribute to the division of student affairs as a member of the student affairs leadership team. The Director develops and sustains collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in an effort to promote streamlined, trauma-informed services and support for all student victims of sexual assault and interpersonal violence. The Director is a licensed, clinical professional with specialized expertise regarding victim services, survivor recovery, medical, Title IX, and legal mandates and procedures. Additionally, the Director is responsible for the administrative and clinical supervision of staff, creating and managing all clinical and administrative policies and procedures, determining services to be offered, managing client flow and client assignment, and conducting quality assurance audits to assure timely and adequate documentation of services while prioritizing direct client services to assure the department maintains a client-centered approach in all aspects of their work. While not directly responsible for leading sexual misconduct awareness and prevention education efforts, the Director is expected to collaborate with those efforts to assure representation of diverse survivor experiences and resource sharing within those efforts. The Director is also expected to serve on relevant campus and community committees, stay abreast of trends within the advocacy and clinical field(s), and maintain partnerships and working relationships with academic units in order to facilitate graduate assistantship placement within the Survivor Advocacy Program.

The Director is not required to report allegations of sexual misconduct administratively under Policy 03.004. This position's major areas of responsibility in their direction of the center are as follows:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or Related License Eligible Field.

  • A minimum of 6 years of related work experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience.

  • Must be able to respond to campus or local hospitals within 30 minutes while on-call.

  • Licensed Independent Social Worker, Independent Counseling License or Independent Psychology License.

  • Requires knowledge of how to deal with crisis, crisis intervention. Must possess knowledge about legal issues involving stalking, dating violence, domestic violence and sexual assault. Must possess knowledge of state licensing requirements and ethics applicable to all staff. Must possess knowledge of clinical supervision requirements applicable to all staff.

The target salary range is $80,593 to $108,801 commensurate with the selected candidate's education and experience while considering internal equity.
