Job Description

Oversees the daily operations of OR, Same Day Surgery, and Recovery departments that include human resources management, financial responsibility, planning and strategic program development and assurance of quality outcomes. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the position is responsible for accreditation standards (AAAHC) and quality improvement OR throughput, decrease turn-over time and improve surgeon satisfaction.

Reporting to the COO, the Director of Surgical Services oversees teams, operations and outcomes for a 6 OR Suites.

ShorePoint Health Punta Gorda is a 208-bed Joint Commission Accredited hospital part of a regional network of hospitals along the I-75 corridor. ShorePoint Health Punta Gorda features all-private patient rooms in the acute care setting, and offers an accredited primary stroke center, the Joint Commission Certified Joint and Spine Center, an accredited chest pain center, an accredited hyperbaric and wound care center, and emergency care services. Additional on-campus services include adult inpatient psychiatric care at ShorePoint Behavioral Center, a discreet medical detox program, and rehabilitation and wellness services at the Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.
