As Director of Strategic Programs (PMO), you will lead cross-functional efforts to drive scale, efficiency and better customer outcomes for Dexcom. In the Strategic Enablement Office, you will create and lead a PMO function that allows Dexcom to deliver its strategic imperatives. The objective of this role is to create transformative, comprehensive and self-sustaining scale and growth capabilities across Dexcom's business units. As an integral part of the Business Transformation Organization (BTO), you will work in close collaboration with various functional leaders across the organization for global programs, process standardization and improvements, and growth and scale of the business. You will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing and implementing initiatives to improve productivity, quality, customer service and/or reducing costs and complexity for Dexcom operations. You will effectively set governance for operational programs across multiple functions, in addition to delivering on strategy deliverables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, lead, maintain a business PMO function.

  • Obtain and evaluate information about industry and market trends, competitive threats and possible business opportunities. Guides discussions and contributes insight derived from knowledge and analysis of the industry and competitors.

  • Drafts strategy papers and presentations to be made to the board or other key stakeholders in the company.

  • Build a PMO to deliver strategic programs cross-functionally. Lead the development, deployment, and measurement of operations programs across Dexcom's support functions. Ensure approved projects are managed effectively to completion - on-time, within budget, desired scope, with planned benefits attained.

  • Drives strategic initiatives and supports development of long-term growth and profitability goals.

  • Lead the development, deployment, and measurement of related transformative programs across most functions. Act as the program management that supports these initiatives.

  • Train and develop collaborative, cross-functional teams to achieve these objectives.

  • Improve our efficiency, streamline strategic initiatives, improve all aspects of business strategy and communicate objectives between departments.

  • Establish a passion for operational excellence within programs, with a focus on Business Transformation.

  • Identify and capture business needs/opportunities through communication with stakeholders

  • Drive innovation with respect to system, process and technology improvements.

  • Recognize operational issues/challenges and recommend pragmatic solutions.

  • Manage large complexity programs that will accelerate operational, productivity and customer experience improvements across the organization.

  • Competent presentation and interpersonal skills meeting the needs of all levels within the organization up to and including the executive management team.

  • Set direction and provide frameworks through which operational objectives can be delivered.

  • Support functional areas in facilitating the identification, implementation and tracking of company-wide operations programs.

  • Oversee the development and presentation of project business cases.

  • Collaborate and drive change at every level & function in the organization:

  • Positively influence all levels of management to ensure that operational excellence activities receive the necessary support and are resourced sufficiently to implement solutions.

  • Assist functional areas in identifying key metrics and validating savings related to automation and process improvements.

  • This position assumes and performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 14 years of related business experience

  • Strategy, PMO, Large Program Management

  • 10+ years' experience successful leadership experience

  • 7+ years people leadership experience - direct and cross-functional

  • 7+ years Project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Life science or medical device industry experience preferred

  • MBA or management consulting experience a plus

  • External Black Belt Six Sigma or Lean expert certification preferred

  • Business Change Management (BCM) ProSci Certified

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of industry experience. 9+ years of successful management experience in relevant industry.

Travel Required:

  • Up to 25%
