Day - 08 Hour (United States of America) This is a Stanford Health Care job. A Brief Overview This is a Stanford job; The Director of Strategic Operations has three broad missions in support of the Vice President: 1) Provides counsel and acts as principal advisor to the Vice President on specified organizational, management, financial, and administrative matters and is responsible for combining strategic leadership and tactical execution. 2) Responsible for the centralized leadership, direction, design and implementation of strategic and organizational initiatives across and within the VPs organization, including, but not limited to: a. Strategic and operational direction and implementation of strategic plans and frameworks b.

Business planning c. Operational/process improvement and efficiencies d. Service delivery integration and alignment e.

Deployment and management of data visualization, structure and accountability for operational teams f. Primary liaison for inter-entity relationships 3) Directs, mentors and oversees assigned staff to ensure effective management of projects under VP areas and achievement of intended results; implements and oversees system monitors and controls to drive the successful selection, prioritization, management and reporting of projects; ensures projects are appropriately managed for on-time and on-budget delivery Locations Stanford Health Care What you will do 1) Representing the VP, assumes the central leadership and coordinating role in transformations and strategic planning process, through business and operational planning, organizational development, and performance/process improvement activities across VP departments/service lines that contribute to the achievement of SHC’s mission and vision. Leads the conduct of root cause analyses and provides senior level oversight to issue resolution 2) Represents the VP in initiative governance forums or applicable stakeholder meetings, as required. 3) Primary liaison and contractual expert with clinical operations for inter-entity agreements and relationships with LPCH, ValleyCare, UHA, etc. 4) Provides mentoring and oversight to assigned staff to ensure effective management of projects under VP areas and achievement of intended results; implements and oversees system monitors and controls to drive the successful selection, prioritization, management and reporting of projects; ensures projects are appropriately managed for on-time and on-budget delivery 5) Identifies process, technology and organizational changes required due to emerging healthcare industry trends and issues 6) Identifies opportunities and strategies for integrating culture and process with outside departments 7) Serves as an expert resource for Clinical Operations methodology and project management 8) Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with system leaders, affiliate management teams, physician leaders and project resources Education Qualifications Bachelors degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university required Master’s degree in business, health or public administration, management or related field preferred Experience Qualifications 8 years of progressively responsible and related work experience, including experience in administrative or managerial position particularly in an academic teaching facility and/or large health system environment Significant proven healthcare management experience with demonstrated leadership in strategic/ business planning, program development, project management, process improvement and physician relations required Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of health care operations, health care delivery, project management process and systems and quality improvement are required High level of operational thinking/expertise to understand and analyze healthcare operations quickly and become a trusted advisor to CAO/VP and peers Strong knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma techniques Ability to effectively oversee multiple projects simultaneously as well as manage /lead/facilitate large and diverse teams to deliver results within specified timeframes Ability to quickly learn new tools and theories in process improvement/change management Strong organizational skills and demonstrated capacity to develop and implement practical strategies, plans, and solutions to identified issues and problems Superior critical thinking skills, including the capacity to identify and appropriately assess and order competing interests and priorities Requires exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $79.15 - $104.87 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
