Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As Director of the Item Setup Compliance team, your role will involve the development, maintenance, and execution of the Item Setup Compliance program. This team supports the alignment of products and processes with federal, state, and local requirements, identifying key item attributes related to our ever-evolving compliance programs and working with tech teams create data structures and interfaces to populate and maintain the necessary fields. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing a diverse team and contributing to the strategy and future planning of the broader Product Safety and Consumer Protection Compliance program. You will be responsible for developing and executing mitigation plans, monitoring program efficacy, and ensuring adherence to company standards of integrity and ethics.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Item Setup Compliance, Regulatory Reporting, and Monitoring, this role will partner with teams across the organization, including varied Compliance subject matter areas, Merchandising, Operations, Legal and Tech. This collaboration will be essential to develop and implement strategies to programmatically mitigate risks and promote business growth.

This position is based in Bentonville, AR and does not offer remote or hybrid options.

What you'll do…

  • Lead and direct a team, ensuring that the development and maintenance of the Item Setup Compliance, Regulatory Reporting, and Monitoring program aligns with Walmart's Global Compliance & Ethics objectives and adheres to legal requirements.

  • Develop and foster partnerships with merchandising teams and suppliers to ensure efficient flow of product information to a third-party information services provider for regulatory review.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to effectively integrate insights gained from product reviews into our internal systems, enabling compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements as well as operational needs.

  • Collaborate with technology partners to create scalable products and tools that automate and deploy AI tools, enhancing operational efficiency.

  • Form and leverage relationships among internal stakeholders to enhance awareness and adherence to the requirements of the Item Setup Compliance, Regulatory Reporting, and Monitoring program.

  • Support program development and maintenance, provide insights to guide implementation, drive program monitoring, and proactively mitigate risk to uphold Walmart's integrity.

What you'll bring…

  • 5+ years of experience supporting regulatory compliance programs, interpreting legal obligations, and assessing business impact.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Engineering, or related field;

5 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR

7 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area;

3 years' supervisory experience;

4 years' experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
