Position Summary:

The Director of Solution Management is responsible for developing, executing, and continuously improving the products, services, technologies, and processes that comprise the PCC Solution, representing a truly unique and market differentiated business positioning within the market place. This role will also own developing and managing portfolio supplier strategy and relations, globally, as well as the businesses M&A and growth strategy required to achieve the 5 year STRAP. The Director will have a deep and comprehensive understanding of the bioproduction market, suppliers, competitors, as well as customers. Lastly, he or she is responsible for leading the Solution & Portfolio Management department and growing and developing team members in a manner reflective of Thermo Fisher Scientific's core values.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and leverage deep understanding of market needs to identify areas of business growth opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive understanding of the competitive environment, point solutions, and solution integrators.

  • In collaboration with VP/GM, and management team, lead the development of the annual strategic plan (STRAP).

  • Develop overall architecture of the businesses solution (people, product, process, technology) based on deep understanding of market and customer needs.

  • Uses market research and data to understand drivers of customer needs and areas for product/solution innovation.

  • Collaborates with Marketing, and other business stakeholders, to use market research, market knowledge, and customer feedback to identify new product/ solution capabilities to support differentiated market and business growth.

  • Develop business plans and economic models supporting new products, services, and/or solutions, collaborating with finance to develop validated deal models/ proformas.

  • Oversee development and execution of Product Management function for supply chain services.

  • Oversee development and execution of Product Management function for chemical portfolio supplier.

  • Oversee development and execution of Product Management function for non-chemical portfolio suppliers.

  • Oversee development and execution of Product Management function for technologies supporting supply chain operations and customer experience.

  • Effective leadership and management of all portfolio suppliers.

  • Development and management of business M&A, partnerships, and other growth strategies.

  • Collaborates with Marketing and Sales to support GTM plans, training of commercial team, and all marketing initiatives oriented to drive business growth and success of the overall solution.

  • Manage employee development, train and promote growth and development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years Product Management/ Product Marketing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in business or equivalent experience in appropriate specialty.

  • Proven Product Management experience in the BioProduction and Life Sciences markets.

  • Deep and comprehensive knowledge of the BioProduction market and channel relationships.

  • Proven ability to understand key drivers of customer need and product/ solution adoption.

  • Proven ability to develop products, services, and/or solutions to solve customer needs.

  • Proven Project Management skills and ability to drive complex projects/ products to completion, on-time and on-budget.

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer orientation and problem solving, can-do attitude.

  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional leadership.

  • Strong written/oral communication and presentation skills with effective strategies for interacting with a wide variety of audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation experience to large and diverse audiences.

  • Expert user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
