Bring your social impact expertise to the table and help us drive the LEGO Group's impact for children in our communities in the Americas!

Core Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President of Social Responsibility (SR), this role is critical to setting the strategic direction for the Americas, with a particular focus on the United States as a priority market. This role will also implement a holistic social impact portfolio in line with our SR aspiration and overarching vision - to help the LEGO Group become a global force for learning through play!

As our Social Strategy evolves, you will play a key role in guiding and driving the Americas region to become a socially transformative business, including initiating key partner engagements, and contributing with local insights. A successful strategy and portfolio will be balanced and include global programs adjusted to fit local contexts, as well as country-specific partnerships and programs that, in combination, will create shared value by meeting local needs, using community assets and aligning with business priorities.

Focus areas include:

1.Develop and be responsible for execution of 3+ year roadmaps in USA and Mexico to deliver on SR aspiration and strategy. This will include driving alignment across the company, including increasing synergies with internal brand and marketing teams, Government and Public Affairs team, LEGO Foundation, LEGO Education, and the full LEGO Ecosystem. The roadmap also includes an internal focus that looks to continue to educate and galvanize LEGO employees into playful action at work, home and in our communities via volunteering.

2.Lead and further strengthen the Americas Social Responsibility team - currently comprised of five to six team members (including interns) based in Boston, MA, Enfield, CT, Richmond, VA and Monterrey, Mexico.

3.The candidate must navigate current complexities including but not limited to:

  • Guiding the transition from Enfield, CT to Boston, MA as we look to make a marked impact on our new home region.

  • Increasing alignment with LEGO Foundation, network of entity partners and the wide range of interests and opportunities evident within and beyond LEGO Group.

  • Honing our initial community work in Richmond, VA as we ramp up our work force and community work.

  • Meaningfully connecting over 1,500 LEGO Brand Retail store employees based in over 70 cities across the US, to our Social Responsibility work via volunteering, storytelling, and engagement.

  • Leveraging and working collaboratively with other SR teams to ensure the USA national roadmap delivers on SR Theory of Change and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework.
    4.  In Mexico, the home of LEGO Group's largest factory, a key sales office in CDMX and a growing number of LEGO Certified stores, you will lead the local team to ensure the national plan is aligned with SR aspiration and strategy, including Theory of Change and MEL framework, needs assessment, community opportunities, volunteering KPIs, implementation of global programs and business priorities. It will also work synergistically with LEGO Foundation work in country.

5.Oversee program execution in Canada and Brazil, supporting local teams to increase alignment with global focus and galvanize employees into playful action at work, home and in the community via volunteering.

Do you have what it takes?

  • 10+ years of social impact, social responsibility, or corporate responsibility experience in a national or global company.

  • 5+ years demonstrated people leadership experience with distance leadership experience preferred.

  • Proven experience developing impactful philanthropic partnerships and strong command of philanthropy and 501c3 rules and regulations in the USA.

  • Partner management experience - leading high stakes partnerships and complex internal and external partners for shared value results.

  • Strategy development experience with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Proactive and demonstrated ability to use an outside in perspective - designing programs and strategies based on high level objectives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong influencing/persuasion skills.

  • Domestic and International travel up to 25 days/year.

  • Passion for communities, children, play, and people.

  • Experience working internationally or with international teams preferred

  • Experience building partnerships in Boston, MA is a plus!

Additional Information

The salary for this position has a range of $151,100 - $226,700 USD based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.

New Location Update

The current work location for this role is 501 Boylston Street, Boston, MA. In 2025, we will transition to our new permanent office location at 1001 Boylston Street, Boston, MA. Specific move dates for roles are to be determined and communicated in 2024.
