Job Description

The Social Media Director serves as a senior media expert, providing departmental or capability leadership and increasing visibility of the media practice while also demonstrating leadership on key clients. This person manages a team of AMDs and is responsible for ensuring media strategies and deliverables meet or exceed the strategic requirements of the client, add value, and meet Razorfish's quality standards. He/she also manages, motivates and mentors media staff in the development and execution of digital media initiatives and drives new business efforts. Duties may also include partnering with other key agencies.

Core Craft Skills

  • Develops forward-thinking, innovative, cross-channel media strategies to improve the effectiveness of clients' marketing programs and grow business.

  • Advises clients and agency's client service organization on media opportunities.

Client Exposure

  • Serves as client team lead on medium media account managing $20+ million in total media spend.

  • Conceives, negotiates, and presents cross platform or large-scale media proposals to clients.

Business Development

  • Responsible for upselling services.

  • Key participant in business development for media pitches

Team Leadership

  • 2+ direct reports; manages a media team of 10+ employees.

  • Lead and supervise client team, including hiring, training, staffing, coaching and evaluating performance.

Agency Leadership

  • Attends and represents clients at industry events.

  • Helps with POV writing, responsible for client specific POVs.

Milestones

  • Has managed a strategic account or several smaller accounts ($20M - $30+ million in total media spend).

  • Has supported in a critical capacity several high-profile new business pitch.

  • Has developed a strong knowledge of emerging technologies, shares learning with team.

  • Has shown emerging thought leadership capabilities (attends conferences and speaks on panels).

  • Has demonstrated strong client service orientation. Has collaborated effectively internally and with offline agency partners.

  • Has managed three or more direct reports and teams up to 20.

  • Is known by clients and internal team members as a strong, collaborative.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in the development and implementation of media planning and buying within the advertising industry: 4 years specifically within the digital/interactive marketing and advertising industry.

  • 4 years of prior staff management, development and mentoring experience is required.

  • Hands-on-keyboard experience within all major Social Platforms (i.e. Meta, Tiktok, Snapchat, Pinterest and X).

Compensation Range: $115,500-194,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
