What you are empowered to lead

As Director of Social Media Strategy, you will lead GAF's social media channel and content strategies designed to drive engagement, acquisition, and retention initiatives across all social platforms and among multiple audiences (e.g., customers, business partners, influencers, prospective employees) in support of the company's business objectives. In this pursuit, you are responsible for establishing a content strategy that recognizes the unique needs of various stakeholders, respects the differences of each social platform, draws on proven best practices, and creatively utilizes GAF's assets. You will directly manage agencies and consultants, maintain budgets, and oversee technical integration of content, as well as train all willing GAF employees to becomes brand ambassadors through the effective use of social media.

As an ideal candidate, you blend journalistic instincts and analytical thinking with a proven ability to turn new and imaginative ideas into reality. As a passionate social media advocate, you possess the ability to guide the development of both long-term and in-the-moment campaigns from concept through implementation, working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Who you'll work with

The role reports to GAF's Chief Communications Officer and works collaboratively with Marketing, Sales and Customer Service, among others.

What you'll do

  • Develop and drive GAF's social engagement strategy to ensure targeted user growth, reach, and overall social engagement.

  • Ensure social strategies are in continual alignment with business objectives.

  • Measure, evaluate and report performance across social platforms.

  • Lead the creation, curation and management of all published social content. Collaborate with other team members to create original content.

  • Develop approach to engaging with followers (e.g., responding to questions or comments), in partnership with customer care and other relevant internal teams.

  • Maintain social content governance, including creation and maintenance of editorial calendars, style guides, and messaging.

  • Passionately promote the GAF brand promise and messages throughout the social media landscape.

  • Direct and manage budgets for creative agencies, third-party vendors, and other suppliers.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience developing and executing social media and influencer marketing communication strategies and campaigns.

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or related field

  • Proven experience working within various social media platforms as well as with social media management tools (e.g., Sprinklr).

  • Clear understanding of all aspects of content marketing, social, influence marketing, and communications, including omni-channel and marketing automation principles.

  • Ability to develop big ideas and bring them to fruition.

  • Experience identifying meaningful, actionable insights within past social media campaigns.

  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, including their respective strengths and weaknesses.

  • Ability to influence, while building internal and external relationships.

  • Ability to identify a potentially negative or crisis situation originating in social media, and engage cross-functionally to mitigate or resolve the issue.

The position in located in Parsippany and is responsible for 3 plants (Belvidere, NJ, Schenectady, NY and Ontario, CA) and warehouses. The HNH Supply Chain requires the management of the supply of straight Vitamins from internal DSM and third party raw materials (managed and non-managed), thus leveraging HNH volumes to improve cost of goods and inventory management. Regional Director Operations North America must be able to communicate and translate commercial strategy into operational reality.
