Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals is looking for talented Senior Associate Director and Director level Epidemiology candidates for our multiple positions in the US.

Candidate will be hired commensurate with the level.

Global Epidemiology is part of the recently established Customer Value Division. As part of the Customer Value transformation, the remit of the epidemiology group has expanded to include more work in support of products in development, as well as additional study activities focused on our marketed products. Because of this, expansion of the Global Epidemiology department is needed, and multiple positions will be available.

Senior Associate Director/Director Epidemiology Description:

For a Sr. Associate Director, you will develop and provide strategic epidemiological management while a Director will ensure strategic epidemiological management of one or more products within a therapeutic area, including use of innovative methods and pathways. Generate real world data proactively for comparative safety and effectiveness research, including subgroup profiling. Provide epidemiological advice to various in- and external stakeholders.

Director, Epidemiology

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and provide high quality, timely epidemiological strategies for planning, initiating, and supervising non-interventional studies, including budget monitoring, for BI products under his/her responsibility

  • Communicate the global real world data strategy internally; monitor and update the real world data strategy

  • Ensure review and give high quality input to critical review assessments, expert statements, and publications, study proposals from internal and external sources

  • Develop and review of Epidemiological Product Management Plan

  • Timely and appropriate development of epidemiological sections of internal documents (e.g. Management Summaries) and documents requested by authorities (e.g. Risk Management Plan)

  • Initiate and supervise development of new processes and standard operating procedures (SOP) relevant for the implementation of Epidemiology at BI and customize existing systems

  • Contribute actively to the team goals achievement; mentoring of more junior epidemiologists within the team

Director, Epidemiology

Requirements:
  • Master's degree (MS/MPH/PharmD) with minimum of eight (8) years of relevant pharmaceoepidemiology experience in Healthcare/Pharma/Biotech industry or Academia or MD/PhD with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant pharmaceoepidemiology experience in Healthcare/Pharma/Biotech industry.

  • Trained epidemiologist with industry experience and profound mathematical/statistical skills, strong analytical skills, medical/pharmacological knowledge

  • Two (2) to three (3) years' experience in leading projects

  • International exposure in daily business

  • Must have experience in at least one of our key therapeutic areas

  • Experience with claim/electronic medical record databases, SAS skills

  • Strong written and verbal skills and well-developed multi-cultural sensitivity

  • Ensure fulfillment of regulatory and SOP requirements for Global Epidemiology studies (e.g. registration, ethical board approval).

  • Proactive, highly responsible, and high accountability

  • Recommends improvements and alternative solutions to resolve problems.

Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities:

  • Pharmacovigilance knowledge preferred

Associate Director, HEOR Value Demonstration Team, Product Director - Ridgefield, CT location Duties & Responsibilities: * Support the HEOR Product Director in the development of strategies to support BI product indications and/or strategic work streams. * Develops research plans, protocols and budgets, conducts analyses, and prepare drafts and final reports, abstracts, and manuscripts. Employs advanced technical expertise to design and perform health economic and outcome research projects/studies focusing on value, positioning, and unmet evidence needs of pipeline and/or newly launched product/s. Responsible for key aspects of effective project management, including selection of research partners, contract execution, budget management, protocol design, analytic plan development, oversight of data collection/acquisition, data analysis, and development of research findings into publications in alignment with brand strategies. * Supports the product director in the timely execution, dissemination, communication and implementation of product-specific US HEOR strategies and tactics in alignment with brand objectives. * Support the Product Director and translational team in developing customer facing tools for HEOR field team that demonstrated the value of BI products * Collaborate/ partner cross functionally to ensure the incorporation of HEOR perspective/ value endpoints/ evidence requirements of US decision makers (e.g, payers) in clinical development programs. * Will support HEOR Product Director and Pricing/ Contracting in the development of value-based contracts with external customers * Support the customer input process for identifying customer value evidence needs and alignment with brand strategy.
