Position Summary

The Director of SAP Delivery will provide hands-on leadership in executing the programs, projects, and day-to-day operational responsibilities in delivering SAP and related business application services. This role is part of the organization's IT Leadership Team and will participate in various efforts that further its strategic goals. For a person to be successful in this role, they will need to be highly driven ("high motor"), able to balance many active priorities, detail-oriented, planful, comfortable in searching out and addressing ambiguity, able to deliver results to achieve intended business outcomes consistently, persists with a naturally curious and highly accountable mindset, and approaches situations in a thoughtful and process-oriented manner.

The primary responsibility is modernizing our ERP platforms and related business systems to drive toward a central SAP instance for the Connect and Control Technologies Value Center. In this role, you will lead the efforts to consolidate various legacy platforms into an existing SAP ECC6 landscape and eventually S/4HANA. You will work with your team and business functional owners to ensure IT service delivery is effectively and efficiently implemented while facilitating project governance for all stakeholders. For net new ERP/business systems modernization efforts, you will work to establish business cases with thoughtful plans, risk assessments, implementation plans, and investment profiles.

As part of the IT leadership team, you will provide hands-on leadership in executing our most important strategic and custodial projects, even beyond ERP, where business systems interested in ERP, providing critical business functions. The leader in this role will need to be able to flex their style and approach as differing efforts will require varying levels of involvement, including but not limited to portfolio management, program management, project management, business analysis & planning, governance, facilitation, and coordination.

Lastly, this person will lead, manage, and coach their team to be curious, drive for results, and behave professionally and accountable - all geared toward optimizing service delivery for themselves and the company. In this capacity, you will be expected to create the future of IT's service delivery approaches and practices. At the same time, you develop, grow, and challenge your personnel to become the future leaders of ITT beyond their current set of responsibilities. As a member of the IT Leadership Team, this role will be responsible for helping determine the people, process, and technology decisions for the enterprise, continually striving to identify, assess, and implement opportunities for improvement that result in meaningful outcomes for the businesses we support.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for large-scale SAP implementations as part of a multi-year, global ERP consolidation and business processes improvement initiatives.

  • Act as a positive force to constructively lead (champion) conversations with business process owners to drive our decisions toward standard, best-practice business process adoption; strive to disprove the need to be unique and thwart the desire to customize unnecessarily.

  • Plan, assign, lead, and overall coordinate the assignment and work/tasks with your employees (configuration and application development); verify their efficiency, effectiveness, and accuracy on a regular basis.

  • Works with the business to create, implement, and manage a global long-term ERP strategy and roadmap.

  • Provides multiple project management, identifies risks and issues in advance, and initiates appropriate corrective and preventive actions, ensuring performance as per project goals for all SAP implementations globally.

  • Works with the business to understand needs and establishes IT strategies that enable business growth and improve business process efficiency and sustainability.

  • Manages SAP enhancement and support activity for existing installations using a continuous process improvement approach.

  • Leads and ensures SOX and overall security compliance,

  • Participates in M&A and growth-related opportunities.

  • Develops and presents project and technology proposals and provides status and progress reporting to the management team.

  • Act as a Change Management agent with the business to drive standards and improve customer service and efficiency.

  • Recognizes and identifies areas where existing policies and procedures require change or new ones must be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.

  • Leads the development of a business case, which may include the identification of a Return On Investment (ROI), Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) assessment, etc., for projects in the area of responsibility.

  • Oversees the activities required for procurement, including establishing contracts (Time & Materials, Fixed Price, etc.), statements of work (SOW), defining contract change control procedures, vendor management, and overseeing product evaluation and selection efforts.

  • Identifies the skills required for project success and works with stakeholders to align team member's skill sets with project assignments. Builds and maintains team unity by ensuring project success is defined, and each team member understands how their participation is beneficial to meeting project objectives.

  • Defines the project activities, sequencing those activities, and estimating the level of effort.

  • Mentors IT Project Leaders on project management methodologies, tools, and Change Management.

  • Improves relationships with effective negotiations and can reach a win-win agreement with and without complete authority.

  • Promotes departmental standards and procedures by contributing to and complying with published standards and procedures to ensure the quality of information systems.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field.

  • Fifteen years of IT experience, with at least six years managing projects.

  • Well-developed and regularly demonstrated managerial competencies, including leadership, strong communication skills, problem-solving, customer focus, teambuilding, interpersonal astuteness, vision, strategic planning.

  • Confident self-starter who is driven and results-oriented

  • Deep technical and functional competence. Demonstrated ability to understand and leverage technologies to meet business requirements.

  • Broad knowledge of SAP products and detailed knowledge of SAP modules, including but not limited to SD, FI, CO, MM, WM, PP, LE, QM, and IM.

  • Experience leading efforts requiring a high degree of organizational change management.

  • Must possess working knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and change management techniques.

  • Demonstrates a track record of solid business acumen and process knowledge.

  • Experience leading regional or global teams.

  • Technical problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and proficiency in English are essential.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in Risk Management, Conflict management, and Negotiation skills.

  • Previous experience leading the integration of acquired companies is required.

  • Previous experience leading the separation of divested companies is a plus.

  • Strong affection for developing and implementing repeatable processes; continually assess and improve.

  • Strong ability to trust but verify various aspects of IT service delivery and planned efforts.

  • Effectively manages multiple tasks to complete complex projects. Highly organized, efficient, and able to define objectives, sequence, timeline, interdependencies, and contingencies for projects or initiatives, maximizing time and resources and overcoming obstacles.

The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.

Equal Pay Act Range

Annual Salary Range is from $166,00.00 to $265,400.00, plus benefits and incentive plans.
