JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Vice President US Foodservice Sales, the Director, US Foodservice will effectively lead and manage a Regional US Foodservice Sales team, Sales Agency, including overseeing Regional Accounts, Distribution and Independent Operators. The employee is a demonstrated Lead of Self Team, Customer, and Business.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strategies to meet (exceed) Company expectations both short and long term, developing/facilitating opportunistic advantages for McCain in the marketplace.

  • Cross-functional Team initiation/participation to ensure competitive advantage.

  • Develop Joint Business Plans with our Distribution partners and Independent Operators to grow our mutual business and McCain share within our relevant categories.

  • Volume and Margin responsibility for both potatoes and appetizers. This includes managing the ROI for growth, margin maintenance and top line volume growth for all Street and other team assigned accounts.

  • Responsible for communicating, managing and executing all aspects of the annual operating plan.

  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales action plans, with support from the Field Sales Execution team. This includes sales plans for promotions, new product introductions, operator call targets, etc. Plans will be measured and reported quarterly, with updates included into the following quarter's plans as appropriate.

  • Lead the McCain 'enterprise selling' approach with key customers and distributors. Utilizing a consultative approach, the Director Regional US Foodservice must take a strategic approach to selling, identifying needs of the customer, and deploying the appropriate internal resources to accommodate the needs.

  • Support Areas Sales Managers in the development and execution of customer/distributor specific plans and strategic selling programs to successfully exploit market opportunities.

  • Responsible for supporting negotiations and renewal of our customer/distributor contracts at terms favourable to McCain Foods. This includes improvement in ROI on program monies, restrictions on competitive products, and the inclusion of performance-based payments.

  • Demonstrate principled leadership within the collaborative and team-oriented environment, always striving to do business the right way.

  • Identification and management of employee development needs.

  • Represent McCain in a positive fashion at various customer conferences, seminars, and meetings.

  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategic Sales Agency sales action plans.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:

  • Ability to grow our relationship and mutual business at Key Customer and Distribution Partners.

  • Enabling and Empowering our Regional Field Sales team by leveraging our Distribution partnerships and developing effective Go to Market Strategies.

  • Business retained and new business generated by further developing Distribution and Regional listings and activities.

  • Accountable for achieving AOC category sales volume and profitability targets.

KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:

  • 8+ years' experience in a variety of Sales roles with focus on Field Sales, Field Sales Team Management, Key Accounts and Distributor Management.

  • Broad and complete understanding of Key Account Management and Field Sales Execution, including the tools and processes associated with developing and executing a strategic plan.

  • Strong presentation and facilitations skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects (small and large) with conflicting priorities and deliver projects on time with excellence.

  • Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams to create value for our customers and our organization.

  • Works well under pressure, change and ambiguity.

  • Demonstrated data analytics capabilities with the ability to identify insights, alternative solutions, and make recommendations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office -- Word, PowerPoint, Excel

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Travel: As required

  • Must have/be able to obtain a valid driver's license

  • Job is primarily performed in a standard office environment
