Responsible for mitigating risk of real estate investment property funds from an operational, financial and regulatory perspective. Effectively identify & quantify the level of risk to the funds, implement risk mitigation to reduce risks and optimize risk transfer solutions in order to protect the long-term profitability and financial success of the investors. Create and present results and recommendations to internal and external audiences at all levels within the firm.

Responsibilities

Lead the property/casualty insurance programs including developing program design, coverage specifications, claims procedures and metric reporting for program results

Lead multiple insurance carrier and broker relationships for continued success during renewal process and throughout policy periods

Oversee annual submissions to brokers & underwriters for insurance renewals and represent organization during discussions with markets

Develop working relationships with numerous internal business partners to continue managing exposure additions/deletions for the funds and be seen as a subject matter expert for insurance topics under management

Actively manage all on-going claim and loss activity to limit the funds exposure and minimize impacts to risk transfer programs. Also develop/assign loss control initiatives to mitigate future exposure

Provide leadership for contract review process as relates to the insurance and indemnity sections. Includes vendor contracts, institutional client agreements, tenant contracts , etc.

Oversee building engineering visits and manage recommendations, conduct annual safety audits for all locations, respond to regulatory inquiries and environmental evaluations and implement loss control initiatives

Required Qualifications
