Sodexo is looking for a Director, Retail Food Operations to support Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto. Responsibilities in this role include retail oversight and implementation. This position will be responsible for leading the retail team in a healthcare organization, including creative, retail dining excellence, marketing, sanitation and regulatory compliance.Stanford Health Care, recognized as one of the nation's best health systems, is transforming its Food Services through its partnership with Sodexo. Primary Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Lead and direct the retail team in a high-volume healthcare organization
  • manage food costing, controls and compliance
  • develop marketing plan for retail formats
  • have high expectations for customer service and quality of food
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and train frontline employees
  • have a passion for customer service and innovation
  • experience with online Food Management Systems

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong working knowledge of all Sodexo retail programs, retail excellence

  • Strong knowledge of all internal brands, all external brands

  • Possess strong financial acumen and understanding of P&L

  • Strong ability to manage processes and drive results

  • Experience managing high volume in retail settings

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Operations

Position Summary

The Retail Director will plan and execute all retail operations within the region. This person will ensure that the retail operations provide both revenue growth and profitability growth. This person will direct all retail initiatives within the region and will contribute to the overall effort to retain accounts and add accounts. Determines the mix of national and in-house brands on each campus. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the company's audit and survey processes and ensure that all units in the region consistently use and support these processes.

Director of Corporate Accounting We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on individual to join our team as the Director of Corporate Accounting. This role will be responsible for leading the corporate accounting function, which includes areas such as treasury and derivative accounting, pension and post-employment benefits, investments, goodwill and intangibles, Corporate segment financial statement, Stock based compensation and restructuring accounting. In relation to these areas, the team's responsibilities will include determining, establishing, maintaining, and owning the Company's accounting policies and compliance with US GAAP (for internal and external financial statement reporting), including advising the Company and concluding on complex accounting and policy matters. The role interfaces frequently with various organization including FP&A, Tax, Treasury, HR and the Business units. Key Responsibilities * Motivate & lead a high-performance global team attracting, onboarding, recruiting & retaining team members. Will lead a global team of 10. * Lead the Company's accounting, policies and financial reporting in the following areas * Treasury and derivatives accounting * Debt and investments accounting * Pension and Post-employment benefits * Corporate segment financial statements * Stock based compensation and equity accounting * Goodwill and intangibles * Restructuring accounting * In relation to the above areas, key responsibilities include: * Accountability over the company's disclosures and footnotes (quarterly earnings releases, 10Q's, and 10K's); * Ensure a timely monthly, quarterly and annual close of related GL areas, reconciliations and related reviews * Own and ensure adherence to SOX and other compliance frameworks * Review and approve complex accounting journal entries * Providing governance over critical accounting policies that feed in to the Company's SEC-filed financial statements; * Governance and authoritative voice on certain accounting standards and policies, and their adoption and application; * The Company's primary representative for tracking and influencing accounting standards setting by regulators, including various peer company working groups, and central point of contact for external benchmarking with peer companies; * Primary contact for communication on accounting and policy matters in these areas with the Company's external auditors; * Overseeing the accounting interpretations and judgments in these areas; * Develop the framework for and lead the Company's interpretation, application, and adoption of new accounting standards in these key areas; * Researching, resolving and documenting accounting issues; * Partnering with the External Reporting team to ensure appropriate external disclosure considerations; * Lead efforts to maximize the proper utilization of the Company's various current and proposed accounting and financial reporting systems Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; * CPA required; * 14+ years' combined experience in technical accounting, including Big 4 accounting firms and/or Controllership within large multinational, publicly-held companies; * 8+ years' proven people management experience; * Exposure to ERP accounting and finance systems such as SAP preferred; * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate status, issues, risks and opportunities with senior leadership team; * Proven ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations; * Proven ability to develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions and layers, preferably inclusive of navigating a large corporation; * Excellent understanding and application of managerial concepts and techniques in areas such as innovation, inspiration, employee development, coaching and engagement; and Competencies * Strong Business Acumen: The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to identify customer needs and use end-user knowledge to evolve services and create effective strategies and programs to drive business growth.
