Summary of the Role:

The Director, Retail Marketing holds a pivotal leadership position with significant impact on MMNA's success. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, this role involves leading strategies to drive retail sales and engage dealer partners, while managing and mentoring a team of Retail Marketing and CX professionals. The ideal candidate will spearhead key Marketing and Sales Operations initiatives, developing retail marketing programs and Tier 3 campaigns to amplify dealer advertising, drive digital marketing performance, and enhance customer experience, while providing proactive guidance to Regional Directors and their teams.

Responsibilities:

Lead Retail Strategy and Innovation

In this role you will lead the strategic direction and development of retail marketing programs to improve dealer advertising efforts, increase dealer website traffic, increase lead volume, increase dealer engagement and drive showroom traffic. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct retail marketing programs to enhance dealer advertising, boost website traffic, and improve showroom traffic.

  • Optimize Tier 3 customer experiences and craft ongoing marketing campaigns.

  • Serve as a retail marketing expert and maintain lead handling best practices.

  • Explore new marketing technologies and manage digital platforms.

Engage in Thought Leadership and Manage Key Programs

In this role you will be a thought leader within the Company, responsible for leading numerous key programs. Critically, you will lead and optimize the digital leads program, "MiDIGITALSOLUTIONS," and work with partner agencies to address program enhancements, design forward-planning initiatives and manage KPIs, and implement countermeasures for performance issues with suggested training or coaching to field and retailers when needed. This also includes, but is not limited to:

  • Lead key programs like MiDIGITALSOLUTIONS and oversee lead management.

  • Manage Co-op and RDA programs and drive qualified leads through Clickshop.

  • Implement lead generation initiatives and monitor dealer website compliance.

  • Manage lead performance, collaborate with stakeholders, and identify emerging retail trends.

Collaborate and Influence

In this role you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other leaders across the organization, as well as external agencies and other vendors, to deliver key strategies. Therefore, you must be able to positively influence and guide others to optimal solutions and outcomes. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Introduce retail sales programs and communicate marketing campaigns.

  • Diagnose lead management issues and manage agency relationships.

  • Align marketing and sales operations strategies and collaborate with stakeholders.

Lead the Retail Marketing and CX Team

  • Guide high performing team members and set performance goals.

  • Conduct performance reviews and inspire innovative initiatives.

  • Foster collaborative relationships with other departments.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of automotive retail marketing experience with strong digital knowledge.

  • Experience with Regional/Tier 2 or Tier 3 marketing strategies and tactics.

  • Demonstrated experience in vendor, project, and contract management.

  • Proven track record of managing and developing direct reports, including setting performance goals and KPIs.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate and identify/resolve conflicts or barriers to teamwork.

  • Strong presentation skills capable of persuading and informing audiences at all levels within the organization.

  • Occasional (~10%) domestic travel to dealerships, regional summits and key meetings will be required.

  • Hybrid working environment - at least 3x/week in Franklin, TN. office.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or marketing.

  • Working at an OEM.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems is advantageous.

  • Previous experience working on retail campaigns is a plus.

Pay Transparency:

The base salary for this position ranges between $190k-230k. The final base salary will be based on a number of factors including the role offered, the individual's job-related knowledge, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, we are proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package for all eligible employees which also includes 401k with a company match, Mitsubishi Lease Program, and a full range of medical, financial, and other perks and benefits.
