Director - Respiratory Care - Rahway, NJ

JOB SUMMARY:

Plans, directs and carries out all phases of activities in the Respiratory Department. Acts as administrative overseer for Sleep Center program. Oversees all Cardiopulmonary functions and assures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, financial and administrative operations and quality management.. Designs, develops and implements Cardiopulmonary policies and procedures in alignment with RWJUHR Pillar goals. Evaluates personnel according to HR policies using established departmental performance standards to promote competency and growth within the departments. Prioritizes department activities and manages the processes and workflow of the Cardiopulmonary department consistent with the hospital s mission and strategic plan within budgetary parameters. Demonstrates awareness and promotes a positive patient safety culture.

Education/Training/Certification/Licensure:

• Graduate of an NBRC approved school for respiratory care.

• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) and licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Respiratory Care.

• Requires AAS with BS degree preferred.

• Minimum of three years advanced respiratory care practitioner experience with primary experience in adult ventilator management and acute respiratory care medicine required.

• Previous supervision or instruction of staff preferred.
