Summary:

The Director, Regional Sales Operations

  • NAM (North American Market) plays a crucial role in the success of our sales team by following existing processes and procedures yet evolving and developing more effective and efficient sales operations programs. This position will focus on actively overseeing the day to day sales operations tasks in support of the North American market growth. The Director, Regional Sales Operations

  • NAM will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between sales strategies, Bidding/RFQ intake/ PCE process, offer creation and improvement, CRM data administration, business analytics, budgeting and forecasting and support training initiatives; equipping our regional sales capture teams with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to drive revenue growth.

Job Details:

  • Lead and oversee the North American regional technical sales operations teams with a continuous improvement approach in Bidding/RFQ intake/ PCE process, offer creation, revision and approvals, CRM utilization champion, data administration, business analytics, budgeting, and forecasting for the region

  • Coordinate Powin's technical (Design) and commercial response (Pricing & T&Cs) to RFPs concerning utility scale energy storage products and/or system solutions for utilities, IPP's, renewable developers and C&I customers

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the sales process, increase efficiency, and improve overall sales performance through closed loop feedback on pricing, technical details, and other aspects of projects won/lost

  • Leadership and development mentoring, ability to work in a cross regional matrix organization and develop individuals on the regional capture teams to be better individual contributors and leaders

  • Support and lead the creation and evolution of compelling proposal documentation efficiently and high quality in responding to RFPs

  • Facilitate support direction and guidance from other Powin departments in response to large RFPs as required. This includes finance, legal, engineering and procurement

  • Support and collaborate with marketing team on developing and evolving customer facing documents and literature including, battle cards, technical notes, slide decks, brochures and data sheets that drive clear messaging on Powin's main offering differentiators and benefits

  • Serve as a customer point of contact for technical questions and information on product and company profile throughout the sales cycle

  • Support the onboarding process for new sales hires, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles by providing them with the necessary tools, knowledge, and resources

  • Develop and maintain onboarding curricula to shorten time-to-productivity for new sales team members

  • Support the development and Implementation of sales training programs to up-skill existing sales team members, keeping them up to date with industry trends, product updates, and effective selling techniques

  • Business process analysis, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning by identifying areas and processes for improvement and support designing targeted training program

  • Evaluate the sales process and identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement

  • Gather feedback from capture teams to continuously improve the offer process, content and address specific customer needs

  • Track the effectiveness of sales operations programs and initiatives by collecting and analyzing relevant performance metrics

  • Use data-driven insights to refine offer content, delivery methods, and overall strategy

  • Collaborate with sales leadership, product managers, marketing teams, and subject matter experts to ensure sales operations initiatives are accurate and aligned with company goals

  • Become a renewable energy, distributed resources, energy markets, and energy storage subject matter expert

  • Identify possible new customer, vendor, and partner relationships and nurture established customer, vendor, and partner relationships for the long term

  • Represent the company at customer and stakeholder meetings, conferences, and trade shows as needed

  • Monitor activity in the energy storage space and share insights to assist with shaping business development strategy

  • Attend weekly project management and design meetings in support of execution team

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering, business, marketing, communications, economics, energy, or a similar field is preferred. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is considered a strong advantage

  • Experience leading sales and operations teams with proven track record of revenue in excess US$800m)

  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies, processes, and strategies of highly complex energy solutions

  • 8+ years of complex technical solutions and systems sales & proposal preparation experience with evidence of wins on personally led initiatives

  • 5+ years of Energy industry experience including response to energy RFPs preferred

  • Business process analysis experience in Lean, Kaizen, or similar continuous process improvement efforts a plus

  • Energy Storage industry experience a plus

  • Proficiency in using sales customer relationship management (CRM) software (SalesForce, NetSuite CRM, Microsoft Dynamics etc.)

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret data to improve sales operations effectiveness

  • Adept with advanced use of Microsoft Office 365 software package

  • Electrical construction and project management related experience to include, timelines, project milestones and schedules and budgeting

  • Understanding of engineering principles related to energy storage resources and electrical design preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions that improve a customer's LCOS and ROI

  • Detail oriented and organized

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and cultural teams

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
