Oversees and manages the team responsible for the operations and account management of publishing vendors. Provides consultation to management at highest technical levels, and initiates process improvement activities. Identifies and manages technical and IT outsourcing vendors according to organization quality standards and policies.
Drives and implements change and continuous improvement. Maintains breadth and depth of perspective, utilizing enterprise and industry/market trends. Sets department direction and motivates staff to achieve direction. Responsibilities have significant strategic and financial impact and requires the successful candidate to work closely with multiple functional areas within Infrastructure and the Market organizations. This is a multi-faceted position requiring a broad combination of skills spanning general management capabilities, a solid understanding of aligned product and service roles and responsibilities, and shift work/operations experience. Adapts to rapidly changing business, technology and competitive environments.
Coordinate and/or Initiate joint planning and strategy activities to improve current Market Management and Hosting/Hybrid Print Service processes. Negotiates Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) and Underpinning Contracts (UCs). Analyzes Operations Service performance in comparison to service targets established in SLAs, OLAs and UCs communicate Hosting Service performance to aligned Market groups.
Supporting the information technology function, partners with senior management to evaluate vendor performance, needs assessment, spend optimization and risk management.
Directs the lifecycle activities for existing contracts.
Identifies new technology solutions and works closely with internal business partners to forecast future needs and to develop cost effective strategies aligned with business objectives.
Drives the strategy and selection of vendors. Coordinates the negotiation and execution of contracts with the Legal and Contracts departments.
Hires and manages a team of managers who oversee publishing centers. Provides coaching and develops team members. Defines objectives and development plans. Also oversees supplier staff.
Oversees development, implementation, and execution of project plans. Oversees operating plan and resource allocation for the unit, including prioritization and staff deployment. Participates in development of business and/or IT vision, operating plans, strategies, and high-level migration plans.
Develops and maintains a network of industry contacts; performs or directs research on industry trends, competitors, business and IT products; analyzes trends and makes strategic and tactical recommendations.
Leads the dialogue between Hosting, Central IT and Application teams on evolving the customer service model for publishing services across organizations and now to leverage data for ongoing agile development practices that emphasize self-service, digitization via a product/capability mindset, customer centricity and value.
Act as main liaison for various third-party companies that provide complimentary or integrated products. Continually seek new ways of improving existing processes or introduce new processes to bring efficiency and value to the business.
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in technical or business discipline or related experience; Master's Degree preferred.
Generally more than 10 years related experience with 5 years in leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies and their application to business opportunities.
In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies.
In-depth knowledge of project planning methodologies and tools and IT standards and guidelines.
Advanced knowledge of management concepts, practices and techniques.
Ability to promote a team environment consisting of several teams.
Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills.
Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
