Who you are:
As our Director, Public Sector Communications & Marketing you will develop and execute a communications and marketing strategy for Dataminr's Public Sector businesses, which cut across US Defense, Federal, and State & Local markets, as well as some work with international governments.
Your role will encompass all aspects of the communications and marketing function, and will be driven by an account based marketing approach. The role includes brand building at the account level, messaging, product marketing, digital communications, events, and sales enablement. This is a critical role in a fast growing vertical, and requires a leader who can think strategically and execute flawlessly, while collaborating across teams internally and with clients and partners.
Reporting to the EVP, Marketing & Communications, you will manage one direct report and work directly with Product, Sales and the broader Marketing team across Dataminr, and with key leaders.
Shepherd Dataminr's Public Sector brand(s), including reputation management
Develop messaging strategy and key messages based on business priorities; communicate the message through multiple channels
Partner with Sales to identify key accounts, and then create and execute communications and marketing plans against each account to engage audiences and drive business objectives, including but not limited to:
Demand generation for new accounts
Expansion within existing accounts
Influencer and advocacy programs
Case studies, collateral, presentations, and other sales enablement tools
Events (tradeshows and hosted programs) to achieve business objectives
Partner with Customer Success to develop support and product-related materials
Collaborate with Sales teams to establish goals and execute programs, including capturing customer insights
Work with subject matter experts and managers to collect communications content
Partner with Product and Sales teams to develop an in-depth understanding of the Dataminr product and client base
Work closely with external partners and Executive team on strategies and tactics
Work with marketing team to leverage cross functional capabilities to drive program success
Measure and manage results and metrics to continuously improve programs
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field
At least 7+ years in communications or marketing function
Experience within SaaS or fast-paced, high-growth environments a plus
Strong account based marketing (ABM) experience or equivalent building programs to reach key accounts
Sophisticated and understanding of messaging; ability to develop strategy and see through to execution
Creative problem solver and innovative thinker
Proven track record of nimbly developing compelling engagement programs that drive measurable results
Results-oriented with a focus on measurement of programs with comprehensive KPIs
Cross-functional stakeholder relationship management, including external partners/agencies
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and teams
History of successfully persuading stakeholders by influence vs. authority and track record of success working with executive leadership
Expertise managing small teams while being comfortable rolling up sleeves to get work done
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong writing and editing skills
Open to some travel as required
