General Responsibilities

Director, Project One (G-Systems PROGRAM)

The Program Director will be responsible for implementing multiple programs and corresponding projects for the Project One transformation initiative. The role will partner with business and enterprise leadership to select and implement processes and systems that align to the achievement of major business objectives. The role will be responsible for successful delivery of the following programs: G-Systems Replacement and Oracle Instance Consolidation. The role will be accountable for the day-to-day management of the Hertz and 3rd party project managers and corresponding project teams.

Key Result Areas:

  • Accountable for securing and maintaining healthy relationships with the executive sponsors and steering team members to effectively govern all aspects of the programs (e.g., scope, budget, schedule).

  • Responsible for developing effective communications (e.g., presentations, program websites, blogs, status reports, etc.) and keeping the executives up-to-date on progress.

  • Work with IT and business teams to define and implement application roadmaps including application support transition plans.

  • Effectively work across Hertz IT to identify and manage program cross-dependencies.

  • Collaborate with other program directors, project managers, business leaders and IT support teams to develop program deployment plans

  • Ensure that the critical path of each program/project is well defined and communicated to the key stakeholders on a recurring basis.

  • Provide thought leadership and best practices in the definition, management and governance of all programs.

  • Demonstrate expertise in project management principles, business acumen and technology leadership.

  • Demonstrated prior experience in successfully leading global enterprise programs from initiation through completion.

  • Partner with IT leaders to establish trusted advisory relationships; foster leadership consensus and resolve organizational barriers

  • Demonstrate an ability to effectively analyze issues and risks and gain consensus on risk mitigation plans.

Mandatory Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration/Accounting, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.; Prefer advanced degree

  • Program Manager over Transformation Projects; formal Project Mgmt. methodologies; Executive and Board Level Experience

Professional Experience:

  • 10+ years' experience with team leadership, project management, and execution of multiple simultaneous and/or large projects.

  • Prior management experience leading large-scale initiatives

Knowledge:

  • Experience leading global transformation initiatives

  • Must have intermediate to high level of understanding of Oracle and financial IT systems and processes

  • Experience implementing and tracking service level or metrics reporting

  • Experience monitoring supplier contracts, specifically tracking performance toward statements of work or service descriptions

  • Prior experience providing data management and architecture support across wide geographical area(s)

  • Experience interacting with C-Suite

Skills:

  • PMP certifications preferred

  • Ability to professionally challenge current thought processes to seek optimal solutions

  • Ability to quickly identify risks and issues and drive appropriate mitigation plans

  • Use of Agile development methodology

  • Detailed oriented project manager with strong financial and leadership skills

  • Extensive skill using Program and Project management methodologies

  • Self-motivated leader with forward-thinking visionary and entrepreneurial thinking to lead the change

  • Be a catalyst to bring people together for a common vision

  • Highly self-motivated and directed with an attention to detail

  • Strong change management advocate
