Overview

As Director, Project Management you will be accountable for the delivery of large scale engagements to clients as well as managing the client relationship from a delivery management standpoint.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large, complex projects/programs by balancing scope, time, cost and quality

  • Lead proposal efforts

  • Lead sessions to collect data, documents, and other information to create specifications that describe how the system will be implemented for the client.

  • Create a project plan with a schedule that lists each task in the implementation project, the person with accountability for the task and the task's due date

  • Lead multidisciplinary, globally distributed teams to deliver integrated client solutions that achieve measurable business results for our client.

  • Manage the financial profitability of client engagements

  • Plan and help create engagements of work by leading estimation efforts and turn those into project plans

  • Manage and grow people

  • Lead the development and maintenance of process and procedural documentation

  • Brief US agency members on new or revised internal processes which are filtered down from departments and/or the Group.

  • Establish needs for process improvement, documenting and rolling out to the agency, as well as feeding back recommended changes to the Group.

  • Enforcing the planning and strategy deadline throughout the agency to ensure meetings and delivery happens. As well as supporting with any other key internal deadlines

  • Monitor time tracking for the agency, ensuring all members are tracking time regularly and accurately.

  • Be a champion for our chosen tools, becoming the expert and giving advice and documentation to other members on how to use.

  • Responsible for financial and project reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent

  • Demonstrated success in project management, establishing a PM function, communicating with senior personnel, and in organizing, prioritizing, planning and executing multiple large and medium-scale projects from definition through implementation

  • In-depth knowledge of the technologies and processes involved in digital project delivery within an agency environment

  • Experience working on web builds, branding, etc. would be a plus

  • Experience with project management tools used for task/time/resource management

  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment would be a plus

  • Extensive experience and ability leading and managing people and multiple projects; motivation and influencing skills; ability to train colleagues on project management techniques

  • Ability to build relationships, networks, and credibility with numerous constituents

  • Organizational expertise with high level of attention to details

  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly influencing and listening skills.

  • Confident and articulate presenter to all management levels

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION This job is responsible for overseeing a department that is comprised of six units responsible for the project management of all projects and programs associated with the gas and electric distribution system, gas & electric metering, electric substations, and electric transmission to support growth, operations and maintenance of BGEs gas and electric systems. Also responsible for major customer projects, all programs regulated by the Public Service Commission, major facilities improvement projects, and reimbursable non-utility projects such as those initiated by Exelon generation affiliates. This position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES * Oversees a Department that is comprised of six units responsible for the project management of all projects and programs associated with the gas and electric distribution system, gas & electric metering, electric substations, and electric transmission to support growth, operations and maintenance of BGEs gas and electric systems. Also responsible for major customer projects, all programs regulated by the Public Service Commission, major facilities improvement projects, and reimbursable non-utility projects such as those initiated by CE generation affiliates. * Leads the development of enterprise wide project management strategies, plans, and metrics to ensure critical organizational objectives and goals are met. � * Establishes earned value metric reporting at the project and portfolio level. � * Assures that project management personnel manage safety, cost, schedule, scope, quality and human resources of projects to achieve the desired results. � * Recommends and implements improvements for the more effective management of these projects with a goal to be the Center of Project Management Excellence for BGE. * Facilitates and promotes the use of best project management techniques and the development of project management procedures to have a consistent and repeatable approach for managing projects successfully. � * Ensures that projects are aligned with strategic business objectives, oversees funding and budgeting issues, recommends improvements, and promotes teamwork across the organization. * Ensures adequate resources of project management personnel and tools to meet divisional operating needs. � * Responsible for the accuracy and control of project scopes, estimates, schedules, and preliminary design drawings for each project. � * Oversees special project and assignment teams. � * Coordinates with company-wide leadership from workload and resource management, system planning, design and engineering, contract management, business management, customer planning, and gas & electric system operations areas to resolve comprehensive design, scope, scheduling and staffing issues. � Serves as the primary contact between the business management area stakeholders and project managers. � * Provides status reports at the portfolio and project level to stakeholders. � * Establishes and monitors the Department budget. * Responsible for conducting feasibility studies, scope development, project plans, project reviews, and lessons learned documents, and provides coaching to mid-level leaders and Project Managers. � * Prepares a detailed long range schedule for work and analyzes the work plan to assist with efficiently scheduling resources. � * Develops & monitors performance indicators & metrics that directly influence the Divisions project work. � * Serves in a leadership position during storms that affect the electric distribution system. � * Maintains knowledge of Company rules, policies and standards and administers them equitably. � � POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: * Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field and at least 12 years related work experience including 10 years of functional or technical experience in work and/or project management, OR the equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience. � * Knowledge of gas and electric� systems, project management techniques, standard operating practices, and local governmental policies and restrictions * Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills coupled with the ability to make complex decisions regarding the use of millions of dollars. * Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple complex projects and to manage a diverse
