The Director, Program Excellence is a new role responsible for driving process improvement and technical enhancement projects that support growth and change across 2U's University Partnerships and Services teams. This is a linchpin role where one will be discussing business needs as well as technical solutions and be able to work with cross-functional teams to drive wholistic business solutions.

This role is primarily internal facing but may include some external-facing responsibilities as a subject matter expert, if needed, by Program Management to foster partner participation in projects. This role reports to the Vice President, Program Excellence.

Key Responsibilities will include but aren't limited to:

  • Primary day-to-day stakeholder for business related technical systems (Application, Customer Relationship Management, Data Integration, Learning Systems) [30%]

  • Provide oversight on enhancement requests to ensure standards and best practices are followed

  • Manage prioritization for enhancement requests

  • Ensure standards are documented

  • Drive collaboration to establish new standards as needed.

  • Provide business-side leadership for new technical system or feature launches [25%]

  • Develop corporate launch plan and timeline using data collection and analysis of partner configurations and requirements

  • Establish standard project execution plans for individual teams to deliver consistent delivery across all partners

  • Coordinate materials for communications and training across teams supporting universities, faculty and students

  • Consolidate and manage central launch space for documentation and communication

  • Proactively identify areas within University Partnerships and Services requiring process improvements [15%]

  • Typically these would related to 2U-school interactions, internal university-supporting processes, and cross-team activities

  • Document issues and solution options

  • Drive toward cross-functional solutions (process or technical or both)

  • Collaborate on project plan for development / launch of solutions

  • Drive implementation of new solutions

  • Collect feedback to drive further improvements

  • Serve as product owner for the University Partnerships and Services Customer Relationship Management [15%]

  • Drive adoption of the system

  • Proactively collect input for enhancements to the system

  • Drive expansion and standardization of core business processes via CRM features and functionality

  • Manage Program Excellence Associate team [15%]

  • Prioritize work

  • Manage personal development of team

Education and Experience:

  • 5-8 years experience in project management or consulting, ideally technology-related

  • Direct experience with implementation or launch of new projects

  • Background includes work with cross-functional teams

  • Highly collaborative individual with demonstrated experience building relationships and driving consensus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Some travel, depending on location, to NY/HQ office 1-3 times quarterly
