Come join this dynamic team using your expertise to make a real impact in the acquisition community.Learn more about this agencyResponsibilitiesAs Director of the Production, Coordination and Optimization Directorate, you will apply your knowledge, experience, technical, managerial and leadership skills to lead the design, development, and integration of effective and cutting edge learning asset portfolios that meet the current and future needs of the Defense Acquisition Workforce (DAW). You will focus on the performance objectives required of DAW members to accomplish effective acquisition and life cycle management. You facilitate higher levels of learning for the DAW in support of improving workforce performance. In direct coordination and collaboration with User Experience Directorate (UXD), Regions/Colleges, and other Enterprise elements, the PCO Director will: * Effectively team/collaborate with the DAU executive leadership team to meet the Enterprise priorities. * Lead a diverse group of acquisition, Learning and Development (L&D), and operational professionals in support of Enterprise priorities, most predominantly in the areas of learning asset development and portfolio management, with supporting L&D function, research, and operational support * Benchmark institutions, in collaboration with UXD that are on the leading of the development and execution of modernized learning. * Develop and pilot cutting edge initiatives to modernize and push the boundaries of the spectrum of learning, develop, and delivery. * Deliver effective, world-class, modernized learning assets in support of the DAW* Enhance DAU's ability to be seen as the Department's source of subject matter expertise (SME) for acquisition learning and development and complex consulting initiatives * Develop and coordinate/staff learning asset policy in support of Enterprise priorities and objectives * Ensure evolving customer needs drive DAU learning asset priorities, leveraging learner feedback, and Voice of the Customer outreach results. * Manage the plans, resources and schedule associated with integrated learning asset development, maintenance, and revision. * Manage the content and partner across DAU on the process for development of learning assets across all modalities of learning in support of DAW, OUSD (Acquisition and Sustainment (A&S)), and Congressionally or other mandated requirements * Serve as the University's liaison with senior executives such as A&S Workforce Functional Leaders, Executive Secretaries, and Functional Integrated Product Teams (FIPTs)/Functional Integrated Teams (FITs). * Establish, publish, and coordinate/staff internal processes and procedures that enhance the curriculum development process and that support operational enterprise requirements. * Control the configuration and currency of learning assets * Continually evolve learning assets to take advantage of commercially available resources, new technologies, and cutting-edge delivery platforms * Support the design of learning assets in a manner that promotes scalability, improved user experience, frictionless learning in support of DAU platform initiatives.In support of the Defense Acquisition University mission, you will also be required to provide customer support through Mission Assistance (MA) consulting efforts to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Staff, Military Services and 4th Estate agencies providing technical guidance and assistance on various matters including those of unusual complexity or without precedent.Travel Required25% or less - You may be expected to travel 25% for this position.Supervisory statusYesPromotion Potential30* Job family (Series)1101 General Business And Industry * RequirementsHelpRequirementsConditions of Employment * Must be a U.S. Citizen * Secret Clearance * There is one vacancy for this position, duty station can be any one of the DAU operating locations listed. Ability to analyze and solve broad, complex problems involving diverse players, and layered governance, to achieve mission success. * Learning and Development Expertise: Relevant experience in the management and development of learning assets for acquisition career fields and related knowledge areas, to include the continuous assessment, currency, and quality of various types of learning assets. Describe any experience with developing/delivering and/or supervising those who develop/deliver effective, world-class, and modern learning across various modalities: face-to-face, virtual, and hybrid. Experience or demonstrated ability to convey complex managerial, technical and business concepts to senior leaders, DAU teammates, and students with different backgrounds, experiences, and learning style preferences. * Leading Change: ability to bring about strategic change, both within and outside the PCO organization, to meet DAU goals and DoD acquisition goals. Includes ability to establish an organizational vision and to implement it in a changing environment. * Leading People: experience successfully leading people and building coalitions to achieve the organization's mission and vision. Ability to incorporate knowledge and application of best business practices and tools. * Executive Faculty Section: Minimum Prerequisites: * This is a Critical Acquisition Position. * If selected for this position, you are subject to the completion of a satisfactory background investigation. * You will be required to join the DAU Faculty Plan as established by Title 10 of the US Code. This position is in the excepted service (non-career). Candidates currently in the competitive service will be required to sign a statement indicating that they are leaving the competitive services voluntarily to accept an appointment in the excepted service. * Initial appointment is made for a period of three years, conditional upon satisfactory completion of a DAU probationary period of two years. At the one year mark, as part of an annual review, consideration is given to extending the appointment; thus at any one time moving beyond that point you will have two years remaining * If selected for this position, you MUST be able to begin work within 30 days of acceptance.Education*
You must possess a Master's Degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and at least 8 years of government or industry experience in functions relevant to this position. You must have specialized experience directly relating to the specific duties of the position to be filled and must demonstrate that you have the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully. * At least 1 year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 level in the federal service. * You must have achieved DAWIA Level III certification in an acquisition workforce discipline or have the ability to obtain this certification within 24 months of appointment. * The President of DAU has the authority to waive one or more of these criteria.
