Position Specific Description

WindLogics is looking for a Director of Product R&D for our solutions lead team based in St. Paul, Minnesota and Juno Beach, Florida. The qualified individual will drive development and acceptance of new products, prioritize software enhancement and maintenance requests, develop partnerships with NEER & FPL to build pipeline of new projects, develop tools used throughout company to bolster our internal brand and help build pipeline for new ideas and lead our partnership with IT to improve focus on innovation, standardization and best practices across enterprise. Qualified individuals will understand cutting edge technology for software development and data science, have experience building, branding and executing on proof of concepts, have strong core competence in resource assessments and operational analytics, proven background with innovation of ideas that drive business value and speed, along with excellent leadership and communication skills with background operating with flexibility, creativity, speed and precision.

Job Overview

Leaders in this role direct and manage the development of all new product opportunities which are complex mathematical and scientific systems aimed at meeting advanced industry needs. This position is responsible for multiple development teams in a matrix organization. Individuals in this role partner with internal Executives and Directors to assess business needs and develop the necessary product and market strategies to enhance the competitive advantage.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with senior leadership to define and vet new product opportunities that align to overall Business Unit and corporate strategies

  • Determines vision, execution path and scope for new product development within Business Unit

  • Leads multiple new product development projects concurrently from proof of concept and prototype development, gaining customer and executive funding, to full development

  • Guides senior professionals up to senior managers on product development efforts

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience: 10+ years

  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 3+ years

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree

  • Six Sigma Master Black Belt

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Three years of experience as a supervisor or manager of professional or supervisory employees in a public health or health related program. AND A bachelor's degree in public health, public health administration or a related field. A Master's degree in one of the above listed areas may substitute for one year of supervisory or managerial experience. Expertise in project management. Has demonstrated ability to use a planned approach to completing work effectively and efficiently; think ahead to accomplish as much as possible, in the time and budget allowed Experience Creating effective coordination mechanisms (i.e., with spreadsheets, scheduling systems, other project management tools and applications, etc.) and reviews his/her plans regularly and makes mid-course corrections when things aren't working correctly (reallocating resources and people as necessary). Ability to establish effective working relationships and partnerships with a wide variety of state and local officials, community groups and organizations, employees and professional or public health organizations. Ability to handle a variety of problems and make decisions that frequently have significant policy impacts and vary from routine administrative problems to complex, technical policy issues requiring input from a variety of government agencies, technical disciplines and interest groups. Knowledge of public health programs, functions, policies, laws and practices. Oral and written communication skills sufficient to develop and present information in a clear and concise manner to various levels of technical and non-technical people. Preferred Qualifications: Principles and practices of maternal and child health, including children with special health needs, and related programs, public health principles and their application to these program areas, and the systems that protect vulnerable populations. Principles of public health administration sufficient to plan, organize, direct human and fiscal resources to achieve full productivity under changing circumstances. Fundamentals of management, leadership and human relations principles sufficient to maintain ongoing positive relationships with subordinates, co-workers, administrative and executive officers, and non-agency personnel. Federal, state and local agencies involved in and responsible for maternal children health, including children with special health needs, WIC, home visiting, and related programs Methodologies and techniques involved in the collection and interpretation of data and its applicability to the planning, development and implementation of CFH programs and initiatives.
