About the team and the role:

eBay is seeking a dedicated and dynamic product marketer to drive inbound product marketing and outbound go to market strategy for new platform features. This is a unique opportunity to become an integral part of the eBay marketing team redefining how we bring eBay's products to market. This role will establish a new company-wide function, skill and capability. As Director of Product Marketing Insights and Capabilities, you will be responsible for building capabilities to scale product marketing impact in shaping product and go-to-market strategy. To be successful, you should be an experienced Product Marketing leader with data expertise as well as a skilled people leader with a track record in building high-performing organizations from the ground-up.

What you will accomplish:

  • Influence product roadmaps by synthesizing market, customer and competitive insights, build audience segmentations and opportunity sizing.

  • Build customer feedback loops during the product and marketing development process.

  • Develop product value propositions, narratives, naming and external facing proof points.

  • Lead product launches and ensure customer adoption of new features via in-product content, marketing and communications, customer service, and in-market / sales channels.

  • Identify internal product market fit tracking metrics; synthesize customer feedback to provide signal amidst the noise across the product life cycle: development, launch, and optimization / expansion.

  • Establish all of the above capabilities into repeatable best practices that can scale across product marketing, enabling all product marketers to work in a fast-paced environment, using qualitative and quantitative market and customer insights to grow the impact of product marketing launches.

  • Scale how you and the entire product marketing organization stays up-to-date with market trends, technologies, and competitor activity to inform product strategy and marketing initiatives across e-commerce, category verticals, advertising, and financial services.

  • Define key metrics for success, and track progress against goals.

What you will bring

  • Proven experience in product marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role

  • Consistent track record of developing go to market strategies for digital products or services

  • Experience crafting value propositions and messaging that resonates with customers

  • Proven ability to drive innovation, implement projects with excellence, and bring new products to market

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and excellent communication skills

  • Strong data analysis skills and experience with customer research techniques

  • Passion for eBay's mission and vision

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field. An advanced degree is a plus.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$160,400 - $254,100

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
