Director, Product Management
OVERVIEW AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
With direction from senior product management leadership, this position is responsible for defining the future direction of a line or family of the WageWorks products. This position is involved with the product throughout all states of the life cycle, including conception, definition, development, release and post-release activities.
This position typically performs work at the central headquarters and reports to a VP level with product management responsibility. At times, this position will work closely in a team environment to participate in and facilitate product planning and management activities.

Incumbents may perform all or most of the primary accountabilities listed below. Specific tasks, responsibilities or competencies may be documented in the incumbent's performance objectives as outlined by the incumbent's immediate supervisor or manager.
Prioritizes product feature requirements, evaluating requests for product changes, enhancements, etc.
Proactively gathers feedback from the marketplace, external clients and internal WageWorks departments. This includes maintaining close relationships to customers to assess and maintain an awareness of customers' needs and perspectives, conducting market research to understand customer attitudes, perspectives and needs and developing and maintaining competitive analysis information using quantitative information.
Writes Market Requirement Documents (MRDs) to define new product features. Obtains organizational buy-in on MRDs and business plans.
Works closely with Business Analysts to define the scope of the feature requirements.
Collaborates with cross functional departments and external partners to determine product feature requirements and launch dates.
Works with Product Marketing to develop collateral for Sales and other support groups. This may include but is not limited to the development of sales support, launch and sustaining marketing materials, including product presentations, FAQs, white papers, selling guides, announcements, etc. This position may also assist with the generation of content for use in collateral, tradeshow graphics signage, public relations, direct mail campaigns and web sites.
Works with Corporate Training on internal and external training program content.
Acquires/enhances product and marketing management expertise by attending trainings, seminars, interfacing with senior level practitioners and reviewing trade periodicals.

Knowledge of product management and marketing as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or marketing. An advanced degree in business management, marketing or planning is desirable.
Work Experience or Related Experience:
The knowledge, skill and ability to define the future direction of a line or a family of products as described as normally obtained through a minimum of three years progressively responsible experience in product management, business development, marketing or market research
A high level of product knowledge and knowledge of Flexible Spending Account (FSA) products and/or administration is required for FSA product lines. A high level of product knowledge and knowledge of Health Spending Account (HSA) products and/or administration is required for HSA product lines.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent knowledge and understanding of FSA and or HAS products and product administration respective to product family for which this role is responsible.
A good understanding of the product development lifecycle and good knowledge of long-range and operational planning techniques is also required. Excellent analytical skills are required to convert business requirements into product features.
A good technical aptitude with the ability to understand technical impacts is essential.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and customer services. This includes customer and/or client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Incumbents must have the ability to prioritize the workload, displaying the appropriate sense of urgency for critical matters.
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are required. The ability to interact effectively with team members, technical staff and clients as described above is required.
Incumbents must be able to interact effectively with clients. Additionally, the ability to work in a matrixed or cross-functional team is imperative as this position will participate in teams and coordinate resources from multiple areas of the company.
The ability to work and maintain momentum with little direction and supervision is necessary.
A high level of proficiency with business and communications software (preferably Word, Excel, PowerPoint, common Windows operating systems, and Outlook) is required. Some knowledge of standard project management tools is essential.
Moderate to frequent travel is required (25% to 30%) and may entail trips that span 2-3 days to attend trade shows, various trainings and to visit the field offices.
Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions.
Work requires normal range of hearing and eyesight. Incumbent must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment and operate a keyboard and other office equipment.
The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions is required. At times, incumbents are subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, incumbent must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 10 lbs. Incumbent may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
