What you will do
As the Procurement Director- Industrial Refrigeration (I/R), you will lead the strategic procurement organization for one of our global product business units with headquarters in Waynesboro, PA. In this leadership role, the successful candidate will lead a team and direct development and execution of the annual material cost and savings plan, represent the requirements of the I/R business in the development of global category strategies, drive implementation and execution of supplier strategies within the business unit, manage key supplier relationships, and serve as the face of the global procurement organization within the I/R business unit. This role reports directly to the Director of Procurement Global Applied Products. This role will also sit on the staff of the VP/GM of global Industrial Refrigeration, and work closely with the VP of Operations for that business.
As a Procurement Director Industrial Refrigeration, the candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills including negotiation, executive interaction and proven leadership skills at Director Level. We would also expect this candidate to have the ability to influence up, down and across the organization.
The candidate is able to manage multiple priorities and work at both tactical (hands-on) and on strategic levels. The candidate will bring successful resolution to high-impact, complex and/or cross-functional problems and have a strong attention to detail with the ability to quickly understand Global Industrial Refrigeration organizational dynamics. The candidate is customer focused and has excellent interpersonal skills. How you will do it
You will demonstrate accountability for functional, business and broad company objectives. Integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization. Involved in long-term strategic planning. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas of expertise.
Develop and administer policies and programs for the procurement of direct materials to support global internal customers' requirements. Provide leadership in on-going cost reduction programs and optimal service efforts.
Provide leadership and coordinate leveraging opportunities across multiple global regions. Interact on a periodic, continuing basis with other locations and cross functional teams to implement global sourcing strategies.
Manage Strategic Procurement Buyers in fulfilling purchasing commitments and organize the appropriate program plans and responsible for people management activities including recruiting, performance management, compensation, and organizational structure.
Provide for the evaluation of vendor quotations utilizing appropriate negotiation and purchasing analysis techniques and implementation of proper contracts with emphasis on quality, price, delivery, and service necessary to meet requirements.
Oversee contract development and administration.
Develop and communicate a procurement business plan; establish, communicate and implement long-term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency.
Develop budgets and standard cost for quarterly/annual operating and long range planning.
Develop, present and gain approval for cost forecasting models and techniques for cost reduction as applicable.
Identify and implement process and tool improvements for strategic sourcing, tactical buying and supplier payment.
Mentor, coach and develop direct reports and other team members for future leadership. Develop a culture of empowerment with the team and prepare them for independent and competitive decision makers.
Develop, communicate and administer procurement team performance and development plans and appraisals.
What we look for
Relevant Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business or technology
Strong financial acumen with experience leading an annual standard cost setting process
10+ years of experience in purchasing, materials management or economics
Extensive strategic experience in holistically approaching categories and sourcing events (balancing cost, risk and performance)
Advanced knowledge of procurement best practices, strong critical thinking and analytical ability
Highly skilled in advanced negotiations (strong knowledge of processes like Game Theory)
Highly proficient technical skills in MS Office Suite and knowledge of E-Procurement Applications
Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English
Global experience managing people with and without direct authority
Global working knowledge of procurement policy, processes and tools
Willing to travel up to 30% (to include International travel)
MBA in related field preferred
MRP skills and some basic accounting knowledge a plus
Six-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience a strong plus
