Role Description

The Milliman IntelliScript suite of software products provides intelligent analysis of prescription histories and other medical data. Our continued success will rely upon process and quality excellence. We welcome the opportunity to create an in-house position for a Director, Process and Quality. This leader will assess our current environment and then recommend, implement and manage solutions that are best suited for our business. This is the perfect role for a person who has expertise in process and quality management and is eager to apply his or her skills to our rapidly growing entrepreneurial business.

Responsibilities

  • Learn our business, products, clientele, partners, and internal teams; take "inventory" of our current business processes

  • Conduct strategic business analysis to define the processes and tribal knowledge that currently exist within IntelliScript

  • Identify overlap, similarity and disparity

  • Bring significant issues to executive leadership for input

  • Document and implement processes; measure and manage results; determine how to share metrics, at what frequency, etc.

  • Assess, recommend, and implement appropriate process improvement and/or quality control methodologies

  • Develop clear, meaningful metrics i.e. measurable objectives for each process, department, deliverable, etc.

  • Convey action plans and coordinate tasks

  • Enable positive change

  • Allow for continued innovation and nimbleness

  • Influence and implement change effectively and hold us accountable to following new processes

  • Allow for creativity with safety nets for quality

Professional Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of professional experience in business process optimization and transformation (in-house and/or as a consultant)

  • Current and past roles in strategy, analysis and tactical execution

  • Demonstrated expertise in process, quality and continuous improvement methodologies

  • A team player who is well-versed in developing and implementing strategy, leading and managing teams, mitigating many types of risk, identifying appropriate metrics and processes, and delivering results

  • Core competencies of effective change management through assessment, recommendation based upon expertise and context, collaborative in fostering change and auditing adherence

  • Demonstrated "let's find a way to do it" attitude - no task is too big or too small

  • Comfortable working through ambiguous situations

  • Self-driven to assess a need, conduct research, present a resolution, implement and manage

  • Collaborative and diplomatic approach, willing to accept or challenge the status quo

  • Ability to understand and communicate with audiences that are both technical and non-technical minded

  • Ability to manage a variety of simultaneous projects

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Continued education, degree, certification(s), and/or professional training in any of the following: economics, business, math, statistics, computer science, information systems

  • Experience in software-as-a-service, actuarial science and/or insurance underwriting industry

Location

This position will be based out of the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI. Applicants must be willing to work onsite in the Milliman office.

All employees are currently working remotely and will do so until such a time when we can return to the office safely.

Working with various members of this team and across the company, the Clinical Consultant will be instrumental as we continue to develop our decision support software, and fulfill the specific needs of each client. This is a unique opportunity for a registered pharmacist, physician's assistant or nurse practitioner to put their experience to use in a business setting. The right person for our team will bring professional experience and training from a variety of pharmacy and/or medical settings and perspectives, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit. In this external-facing role, the right person for our team will bring professional clinical experience, an evident passion for applying data analysis to business problems, as well as a natural drive to learn and exceed expectations. Responsibilities * Interpret complex prescription profiles * Evaluate new drug therapies coming to market * Master the clinical content of our proprietary rule engine (Irix®), identifying changes from a clinical perspective * Learn how each IntelliScript product works and how they fit together * Identify new prescription and medical data rules * Learn to apply mortality data to imputed health conditions * Utilize clinical experience to support product implementations for a broad range of insurance company clients * Lead the clinical quality review for new rules i.e. content and documentation * Consult with clients, demonstrating clinical expertise in a business frame of reference * Develop processes to improve the Clinical Services team's efficiency * Attend IntelliScript product implementations and provide ongoing clinical support for clients' questions * Contribute to developing and implementing creative new products * Present clinical findings to insurance carrier underwriting teams Professional Qualifications * Completed professional degree from an accredited school (e.g. PharmD, PA, APNP). * Licensure in good standing * Minimum of 5 years of experience working in PBM, specialty pharmacy, managed care and/or hospital settings * Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Personal Qualifications * Focused on results and able to explain findings in a way that answers business problems * Able to unearth client needs, conduct analysis, and present a resolution * Constructive, "can do" approach to overcoming obstacles * Articulate and professional when speaking with clients as well as with colleagues * Thrive in a small team, without micromanagement * Strong work ethic, willing to pitch in wherever needed * Seeks out input from others, shares insights and opportunities * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially when presenting information * Willing to travel to client sites (nationwide), industry conferences, etc. (most often day trips, approximately 25% travel) Preferred (Not Required) * Completed residency or advanced training * Experience with medical and pharmacy claims (ICD-10 codes, data management, formulary management, research, etc.) * Published thought leadership articles, past speaking engagements, etc. * Experience presenting to C-suite decision-makers Location * This position will be based out of the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI.
