Director Principal Quantitative Methodology Statistics

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Director Principal Quantitative Methodology Statistics, are to:

  • Serve as a statistical advisor for study and project statisticians, and SDI-statisticians working in research as well as clinical teams and project teams on the use of Bayesian Statistics;

  • Drive the development and application of Bayesian statistics for planning and analysis of clinical trials, thereby ensures that these are based on state-of-art statistical methodology and meet regulatory requirements;

  • Provide statistical and methodological consultation on special statistical methodology or on complex statistical, scientific and regulatory issues to statisticians and mentors and supports statisticians in using Bayesian statistics;

  • Drive the development and evolution of software tools to decrease entry hurdles to the use of Bayesian statistics;

  • Represent the function with respect to statistical aspects of clinical development programs and products to internal and external stakeholders;

  • Keep abreast of methodological and regulatory issues, anticipates new needs in the area of responsibility and ensures development of innovative solutions and advices implementation;

  • Influence decision making processes and supports quantitative decision-making during drug development and/or life-cycle management by use of appropriate Bayesian statistical methodology;

  • Develop and implement innovative Bayesian statistical methodology for the respective field of responsibility, if appropriate in cooperation with academic experts;

  • Take over tasks of a study and or project statistician as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master of Science or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or related fields;

  • At least eight years of experience as statistician or equivalent with significant time spent in the Pharma, Biotech, or similar sector;

  • Thorough knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry including understanding of clinical drug development process or life-cycle management and associated documents and regulations;

  • High level of expertise in multiple fields relevant for his or her statistics sub-function in application of Bayesian Statistics including applicable software;

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively;

  • Good knowledge of statistical programming languages (including R or SAS) and Bayesian software (including BUGS, JAGS and Stan);

  • Fluency in English.

Associate Director Business Tech Mgmt YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of this role, Associate Director Business Tech Mgmt, are to: * Assign Application Life Cycle Management, this includes coordination of bug fix resolutions, application related communications and trainings, audit and inspection preparation and support, planning and deployment of application maintenance and upgrades; * Assume Process Manager role as assigned (for GxP systems), execute and coordinate proper compliance management comprising all testing and validation activities; * Align with Technology and Application Managers and DS&A stakeholders to specify, develop and review user requirements and user centric interfaces for change requests and new applications; * Analyze impact of new system releases provided by software vendors and specify configuration and integration adjustment needs; * Enhance right size system specifications to maintain flexibility in case of unexpected obstacles or delays affecting integration; * Establish good user requirements specifications practices; * Lead and/or manage project as requested for assigned DS&A functions; * Interact with software vendors, business application leads and R&D IT partners. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: * Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Informatics, Computer Sciences or similar concentration; * At least 8 years of experience in GxP/CSV and IT project or business process design; * At least 8 years of IT application business analysis and project management experience; * Strong IT acumen; * Strategic thinker who takes delight in tapping into new fields without established routines and processes; * Strong communication skills; * Excellent English skills both written and spoken; * Willingness and ability to travel as needed, up to 20%.
