About the Program:

Ahead of the 2024 elections, Movement Labs is launching a political tactic incubator with unprecedented ambition. Our goal is to explore, analyze, and scale innovative strategies that persuade, mobilize, and register voters to counteract Trump's influence. We are committed to investing millions in successful initiatives, focusing on new organizing programs and turnout tactics. These efforts will target low-turnout, high-opportunity voters in marginalized communities, persuade Republican voters toward President Biden, and enhance voter registration efforts. The objective is to garner 50,000 votes for Biden ahead of the November Election.

Details & Compensation: 

Location:Remote, Washington, DC preferred

Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $98,000-$120,000 annually, depending on experience and location with significant bonus opportunity commensurate with performance.

About the Role: 

Movement labs is hiring a Director of Political Innovation for the 2024 cycle. This role is a second in command position focused on personnel management and organizing and digital organizing pilot execution. The Director of Political Innovation will report to the VP of Political Innovation.

This role will be responsible for providing budget, staffing and operational needs for dozens of pilots in each the Organizing and Digital Organizing Modes across the seven battleground states. When pilots are successful, the Director of Political Innovation will work alongside each Mode Lead to scale experiments ahead of the 2024 election. This role will report to the VP of Political Innovation and will work closely with the other Political Innovation Director.

Our ideal candidate is a well-seasoned political operative with federal and statewide campaign experience at a high level. We are looking for someone who has worked across the political ecosystem in managerial roles and seeks to improve tactics and techniques to better progressive ecosystem and win.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple Organizing and Digital Organizing Mode Leads as they own the process for setting up pilot experiments;
  • Generate, vet and drive piloting of creative vote-netting ideas;
  • Develop and oversee the vendor selection process, including the creation of an RFP, holding vendor interviews, and assisting with final selection of vendors;
  • Oversee the management of vendors, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders on scripting, data intake, and completion of paid phone projects;
  • Work with the VP of Political Innovation to set clear goals and benchmarks for mode leads and vendors;
  • With the support of the data and experiments team, create and implement accountability structures for vendors and mode leads so that they are successful at hitting hiring and output ramps and quality control;
  • Assist with scoping and project planning all pilots under the organizing and digital organizing mode leads;
  • Organize and track key program deadlines, deliverables, and experiment materials;
  • Contribute to the organization’s strategic planning as a key member of the Incubator Team.

Requirements

    • Has 7 years of relevant work experience in political innovation, with a preference for those who have managed federal and statewide campaigns;
    • Is an expert manager who can bring pace and excellence to the team to achieve ambitious goals;
    • Has a get-it-done attitude and track record of motivating and holding a team accountable;
    • Has excellent project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities;
    • Is creative and solutions-oriented. They are able to work independently but value collaboration and teamwork;
    • Is flexible – they are able to adapt to unexpected changes and last-minute adjustments;
    • Strong ability to communicate in writing for a variety of audiences, including external and senior-level staff ;
    • Ability to build clear and effective communication and accountability structures;
    • Has a deep commitment to progressive electoral outcomes and re-electing Joe Biden.
