Providence is calling a Director Pharmacy 340B Program PSJH (Full Time/Day Shift) at
Providence California Regional Services. The sucessful candidate maybe based in Torrance or Irvine CA. There wil be limited local travel to our ministries located the in San Fernando Valley, South Bay and Orange County
We are seeking a Director Pharmacy 340B Program PSJH who will be oversee all aspects of the California Region 340B program including compliance, program expansion and financial reporting. Provide operational accountability, management, and process development of the 340B program to ensure optimal operational performance in compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial standards.
Perform ongoing analysis and audits of the program and data validation to ensure accurate and optimal performance. Manage drug manufacturing accounts and ensure proper inventory flow related to the program. Manage staff related to the program and coordinate operational efforts from supporting departments. Participate in development and roll out of Specialty Pharmacy network.
The 340B Program Director will work with the qualified 340B ministries in the region to optimize purchasing for medications from the 340 program. The director will be responsible for assisting facilities qualified for the federal 340B purchasing program to develop business plans to prioritize and implement programs related to long-term care, facility owned retail pharmacy, employee prescription program development and contract pharmacy agreements.
In this position you will:
Ensure policies and procedures are implemented according to PSJH, regional, national, state and federal guidelines and approved by PSJH Legal
Ensure that audits follow current regulatory compliance recommendations and are completed at the facility level
Ensure that 340B program specialists (managers) are able to complete evaluations of gaps at the facility level and assist in providing the tools necessary to be compliant with the 340B program
Global transaction and volume reconciliation.
Evaluate covered entity reconciliation at the contract pharmacy, covered entity, and wholesaler levels
Report - Ensure reporting meets PSJH, regional, state, and federal guidelines
Participate in projects, councils, and special initiatives related to 340B, compliance, auditing functions, vendor selection, and medication management
Keep abreast of regulations, trends, and issues pertaining to the 340B program
Provide expertise to staff and participants with the 340B program regarding ongoing compliance with the 340B program
Conduct 340B Program training for staff and continues to modify training materials on an as-needed basis depending on changes to the program at the federal, state, and/or local levels
Provide training and technical assistance to health system sites and contract pharmacies
Develop and maintain internal relationships (accounting, legal, national) and external relationships (wholesalers, manufacturers, contract pharmacies, splitter software vendor, Employee Benefit Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) and Third Party Administrator (TPA) vender as needed)
Oversight of Regional 340B Program Specialists (Managers)
Perform scheduled auditing of drugs ordered and dispensed, comparing and reconciling reports from contract pharmacies and drug wholesaler in regards to splitter software and contract pharmacy
Perform compliance audits, reviews program reports for regulatory adherence, and reports same to program stakeholders and senior/corporate leadership
Collaborate with department leadership to improve or enhance 340B service offerings
Actively manage and deliver on leadership expectations around project activities, timeline, deliverables, and outcomes
Other duties as required
Must be able to travel by a variety of modes of efficient transportation to all PSJH sites within scope of assignment
Master's Degree or PH.D. accredited College of Pharmacy
Current CA Licensed Pharmacist
3 years Hospital pharmacy operations experience
5 years Client facing experience in hospitals and health system administration and/or consulting advisory role.
Experience with pharmacy billing
Pharmacy systems and in depth knowledge of analytics requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practices and knowledge of 340B program
Solid understanding of auditing standards, techniques, and procedures
Solid understanding of financial concepts
Knowledge of the issues, trends, and challenges presented by participation in the 340B program
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements presented by participation in the 340 program
Knowledge of pharmaceutical databases (Orange book, FDA orphan Drug lists)
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with local agencies
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Time management and organizational skills
Proficient with MS Office(Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Project) and Internet navigation
Consistently demonstrates ability to respond to changing priorities and situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs
