Job Summary

As a Regional People Director, you will be responsible for supervising on site and remote People Operations resources within your region, administering benefits and leave, while enforcing the company policies and employee handbook. The Regional People Director must be able to cultivate, build and maintain strong working relationships with the internal People Operations team and field leadership to collaborate on department or team initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with the VP, People Operations Partner to understand and execute on People Operations and Talent Strategy particularly as it relates to onboarding, retention, and succession planning.

  • Partner with Vice President of Talent to ensure adequate staffing in all locations within region.

  • Partner with business leaders (State Directors/EVP Operations) to understand business needs and objectives of the region.

  • Oversee and support People Coordinators, Managers and Business Partners on location and off location.

  • Spearhead process improvement plans vetted out by the VP, People Operations Partner and run with implementation of those plans.

  • Facilitate and attend regularly scheduled People Operations staff meetings to ensure clear directives and communications.

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting people operations functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.

  • Maintains knowledge of state cannabis licensing requirements and ensures compliance within region.

  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting, e.g., annual EEO-1 reporting

  • Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.

  • Performs investigations and advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.

  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Regularly coach managers and leaders in the compliance of regulations (OSHA, FLSA, etc.)

  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.

  • 25 - 50% travel within the region is expected to visit retail and cultivation facilities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Human Resources.

  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing/CPG or Retail setting.

  • Strong understanding of OSHA and Manufacturing compliance regulations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Ability to adapt and shift priorities in a moment's notice.

  • Extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels.

  • Present themselves professionally and ethically.

  • Sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the public image.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR highly preferred, but not required

Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 10 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
