Overview
Responsible for managing Pastoral Care Services and advising the CEO/President and Administrator of the DCH Health System on ethics, moral, emotional, religious, and spiritual matters that affect the Health System.
Responsibilities
Manages departmental budget. Interviews, selects, hires, and retains employees, including other management positions. Ensures orientation and training for employees, including other management positions. Manages performance, including other management positions. Promotes, demotes, or transfers employees to meet organizational needs, including other management positions. Executes progressive discipline up to and including termination. Manages departmental productivity standards. Provides strategic leadership for department(s). Performs long-range planning and overall direction setting at the departmental level. Responsible for department organizational structure and alignment to meet forecasted business needs. Responsible for development, implementation and interpretation of system policies within a major organizational/functional area or the development and review of system policies within a recognized discipline. Approves payroll and is responsible for accurate payment of employees, including other management positions. Manages the approval and processing of Health System Employee Requests for Hardship Cash-outs of CTO/PTO. Manages the approval, activation, and issuing of Parking Cards for Clergy and outside organizations that support the operations and mission of the DCH Health System Manages the Jehovah's Witnesses Patient Visitation Team in support of the DCH Bloodless Medicine Program. Assures meeting/exceeding of DCH mission and vision, departmental goals, and 5 keys of excellence. Serves as consultant to DCH Health System on ethics, moral, emotional, religious, and spiritual matters that affect the System. Performs duties of staff chaplain as time allows. Documents in the patient's electronic medical record and keeps records of pastoral activity to communicate with other members of the department and health care team. Must adhere to the Code of Ethics adopted by the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Five years, full time experience as a Board Certified Chaplain in a healthcare facility is preferred.
Management training or experience in the healthcare setting.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from a college or university.
Master's degree in theology that involves a minimum of 72 semester credit hours (108 quarter credits).
Four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) to function as a competent pastoral care provider from an institution or institutions accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC).
Must be certified by and in good standing with a nationally recognized professional certifying organization..
Current ordination, commissioning, or other similar standing to function in a ministry of pastoral care, granted by an appropriate religious authority according to the standard practice and policy of that authority.
Provide documentation of current endorsement or of good standing in accordance with the applicant's faith tradition (received or reaffirmed within last 12 months). The letter must be mailed directly to the Administrator of DCH. Faith groups must be recognized by the National Conference on Ministry to the Armed Forces (NCMAF) or by the Yearbook of American & Canadian Churches.
Philosophy and Theology
Requires use of telephone and computer systems including but not limited to electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, spreadsheet software, database software, electronic medical records, and intranet/internet.
Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
