Reporting directly to the Vice President, Talent Management and Organizational Development, the Director, Organizational Development will have responsibility for the operational aspects of the Organizational Development function, and will be a key resource for the operations leaders of each healthcare division and corporate service functions. The Director, Organizational Development, will contribute to the design and supervision of succession planning, employee engagement and retention, human capital operational and predictive analytics, continuous performance management, leadership and functional skills development, coaching and mentoring, learning management system administration and reporting, on-boarding, and career development programs that help select, develop and retain a diverse, creative, and highly engaged employee population.



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, Masters preferred


  • 12 years progressive experience with high technical competence in all human resource areas including recruitment, retention, employee and labor relations, classification, compensation, information systems, succession planning and employee development, benefits, and diversity initiatives.

  • Minimum of seven years leading and managing high performance teams.

Responsibilities Demonstrates the ability to practice and effectively lead the operational aspect of the OD function and performance, including the planning, development and deployment of OD related human resource policies, programs and practices, and the strategic and operations levels of development and deployment of organizational development activities such as talent selection, development and retention strategy and methodology, continuous performance management, succession planning, all levels of learning and development, and human capital data mining, analysis and related strategic planning and execution, all of which support the company's patient, business and growth goals, and also mirror's the mission and core values. Measures, reports and coordinates improvement of the effectiveness of all OD related fiscal operations processes and procedures, including evaluation of the OD budget structure and staffing plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the OD function. Appropriately balances accountability and risk taking to successfully implement critical division and enterprise-wide OD related strategic and operational goals and objectives. Collaborates with the executive and division management teams in providing timely and accurate analysis of OD related budgets, financial reports and financial trends. Collaborates with operations and clinical staff in applying knowledge of the appropriate organizational development accreditation standards (NCCHC, ACA, JC, etc.), in a dynamic public health and/or correctional continuum of care.

The Senior Organizational Development (OD) Consultant will provide deep subject matter expertise and consultation in various OD functions to support employee engagement, retention, change management and other initiatives to facilitate professional development and continuous learning initiatives. The OD Consultant will be responsible for some or all of the following under direction of the L&OD Director for ILOB/Corp/HRG: Assess organizational development needs of operating, business and functional units. * Work collaboratively with L&OD COE in the design, development and implementation of programs, policies and strategies to meet business needs and program goals. * Assist with the provision of expert facilitation and coaching. * Deploy the following programs, tools and processes: * Talent Assessment & Performance Management - This includes facilitating talent assessment reviews, identifying areas of improvement and consulting with leaders for improved performance based on desired skill set. * Succession management - This includes facilitating or participating in succession management sessions, consulting with HRBPsand leaders on opportunities, summarizing and presenting results. * Leadership development - This includes identifying learning needs, working with COE to develop or customize available programs, and facilitating or overseeing the delivery of development programs. * Career Development - This includes coaching and participating in career counseling and feedback sessions. * Mentoring- This includes coaching and assisting management in the matching of individuals with mentors and mitigating conversations. * Multi-rater Assessment- This includes coaching and participating in multi-rater assessment and feedback sessions. * Change management - This includes systems and processes leading to better operational performance and preparing leaders and employees to lead and manage change throughout the organization. * Employee Engagement & Retention – This includes consulting with Employee Relations COE and field HRBPs on facility and division-specific employee engagement and retention issues and strategies. * Culture assessments – This includes diagnosing work environment issues and consulting with HRBPs and leaders on solutions for improvement. Needs assessments to determine leadership, professional and career gaps for further development. * Provide feedback to L&OD COE regarding programs, tools and processes. * Provide guidance and consultation on learning and organizational development programs and processes. May include activities related to program implementation such as ensuring completion of employee development plans. * 3-7 years of relevant experience. * College degree required. * Master's degree in organizational development or related field strongly preferred. * Strong verbal and, written communication skills. * Ability to multi-task. * Strong critical thinking skills. * Knowledge of state of the art organizational effectiveness strategies across industries. * Ability to analyze large data sets and make metrics based recommendations to management. * Polished and confident presentation style. * Demonstrated ability to use multi-media approaches to communicate to a wide and decentralized audience.
