Job Summary

Member of NAMCO team responsible for analysis of and buy/sell recommendations on investment offerings of middle market Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs), private credit structured transactions and esoteric ABS. Responsible for portfolio surveillance and portfolio management of existing portfolio. Generate value added investment recommendations for portfolio. Management of existing Structured Credit Team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • New Investments:

  • Source and generate new investment offerings across investment sectors.

  • Present transactions to Investment Committee for approval

  • Collaborate with the portfolio management group so that investment commitments meet insurance company portfolio requirements/guidelines.

  • Work closely with internal and external legal counsel to document commitments and related maintenance documents.

  • Portfolio surveillance and Monitoring:

  • Monitor investment holdings by performing regular financial and qualitative reviews to detect changes in quality credit in order to minimize losses.

  • Portfolio Management:

  • Ensure that all investment commitments are within established guidelines and limits.

  • Manage portfolio within an insurance company framework to manage book yield and minimize realized losses

  • Manage troubled and watch list assets as needed.

  • Recommend sales as appropriate to reduce possible losses.

  • Portfolio Reporting:

  • Prepare and present sector materials at recurring investment and risk management meetings

  • Meet all internal and external reporting requirements as mandated by management. Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management. Must maintain appropriate attendance.

  • Provide management oversight and guidance for existing team including oversight of annuity hedging program

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in investments and asset management.

  • Experience in structured securities, middle market CLOs, private credit and esoteric ABS

  • Confidence in making buy/sell recommendations with logical support and documentation

  • Bachelor or master's degree in business administration preferred. CFA designation a plus

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)

  • Proficient with computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.

  • Proficient in transaction monitoring/modeling systems including Intex and others

  • Comfortable dealing with people with a wide range of backgrounds (ie. From sophisticated CEOs, CFOs at due diligence meetings to relatively unsophisticated staff members)

The compensation for this position falls within the following range: $150,000-$250,000.
