Directs Distribution Center operations for assigned shift through a team of functional managers and front line supervisors. Ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines.

  • Responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire inbound (Receiving), outbound (Shipping), and operational support departments on assigned shift.

  • Responsible for ensuring that key customer service and operational efficiency standards are met.

  • Manages policy deployment in the areas of quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and center performance measures.

  • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training, and development.

  • Balances work cell capacity across the entire distribution center.

  • Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.

  • Ensures compliance with company needs for capital investments and improvement projects.

  • Manages compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Responsible for maintaining a budget and meeting all criteria with budget

  • Ensures department processes and records are timely maintained and that department is in complete compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements throughout each fiscal year.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Leadership: A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span; Measurement of performance to company goals and standards and establishment of targets for improvements in safety, quality, cost, delivery and employee relations. Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Employee training and development. Technical skills in materials and inventory management, production scheduling, and preventive maintenance. Quality orientation and attention to detail. Problem analysis and problem resolution. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. High performance teams and a strong team player

This role is responsible for providing efficient and effective coordination of their work unit. This includes understanding their team and motivating them to achieve organizational and professional goals. * Consistently demonstrate positive and professional behavior to all Associates, Vendors, Supervisors and Managers. * Seeks innovative initiatives to enhance distribution center operations to simplify work output and improve processes. * Ability to read, interpret and present information such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Responsible for managing day to day flow of all production areas using data and historical performance trends. * Manage mulitple data interfaces to control flow and overcome production obstacles. * Assist in strategic workforce planning to ensure maximum efficiency in production flow. * Communicate effectively and partners to reach decisions and solve problems to improve quality, performance and safety. * Makes and communicates decisions, takes action, understands impact, and accepts responsibility. * Ability to learn and retain a comprehensive understanding of all operating systems and processes. * Provide effective supervision of associates and assist them with ongoing development. * Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable municipal, state and federal laws relating to Health and Safety, OSHA. * Ability to have a flexible schedule, can adapt to new working conditions, and able to work increased peak season hours as needed. * Foster an environment in which diverse backgrounds are respected and valued. * Third Party Avoidance. * Strong reasoning, analytical, and organizational skills * Staff mentoring and development / technical guidance and direction. * Teamwork and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate with customers and associates * Knowledge of automated DC Systems and of current RF technology is helpful * Must be able to fulfill all standard warehouse physical requirements * Previous leadership experience is helpful * MS Excel (4 years of experience with pivot tables, creating and managing formulas) and Microsoft Word skills * Equivalent years of related work experience or Associates Degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Business Industrial Engineering or related field. * Preferred Experience: Previous distribution experience or direct to consumer/e-commerce business.
