What You'll Bring:

  • A minimum of 10 years relevant progressive experience, preferably in a corporate or agency setting

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field.

  • A strong track record independently developing, executing and measuring the success of strategic communication programs

  • The ability to form effective, consultative working relationships with colleagues at all levels and external stakeholders

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with significant writing experience

  • This role requires strong relationships with colleagues from various departments across TransUnion including legal, compliance, government relations, information security, public relations, marketing, internal communications, design, social media, sales, investor relations, and more.

  • This role is expected to manage the work of team members and agencies to maximize performance.

  • You will be responsible for developing and leading a public affairs communication program in the United States to articulate and amplify TransUnion's perspective on topics affecting our industry.

  • You will also lead the company's communications in response to issues affecting our company, as part of a cross-functional response team.

  • Periodically, you will also support the broader Corporate Affairs & Communications team by contributing to corporate communication, executive communication, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

  • Some travel may be required

We connect, communicate and train internal employees to ensure a thorough understanding of the science behind the medicine and review further unmet medical needs to support collaboration to further differentiate our portfolio. The National Health Systems Medical Affairs Director (NHS MAD) is a therapeutic, disease, population health and health systems expert who develops on-going professional relationships with healthcare decision makers within key national payer and provider organizations (e.g., Health Plans, Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM), Integrated Delivery System (IDS), Federal). The NHS MAD provides accurate information across the full company product portfolio, clinical science, and quality management in a balanced and credible manner consistent with the regulatory environment and our Company's ethical standards. Through a deep understanding of the accounts' population health strategies, serves as the medical account manager, collaborating and coordinating with other Medical Affairs colleagues and select commercial roles, to bring relevant health care solutions to these accounts. The NHS MAD is the sole company role working with both provider and payer national accounts, linking the main functions within the healthcare delivery system in the US. Serves as a resource for the United States Medical Affairs (USMA) management team and provides mentorship to other team members on medical account management, population health management and other key areas of focus. Primary Responsibilities * Develops ongoing professional relationships with key decision makers in national organized health systems, serving as the primary medical contact to ensure access to medical and scientific information on the full product portfolio and areas of therapeutic interest, as well as non-product initiatives and areas of focus (e.g., quality management, outcomes research, adherence). * Partners with the Managed Markets & Policy (MM&P) and IDS account management teams to develop strategic account plans and associated medical account plans and then insures execution of medical activities in alignment with agreed plan. * Serves as the primary resource for market dynamics within national accounts to fully understand evolving information needs by decision makers to feed into the ongoing value-proposition development process for our Company offerings – product and non-product. * Leads medical account management and planning with associated medical affairs functions for associated national accounts and markets. * Effectively communicates and coordinates with Regional Medical Scientific Directors (RMSD) regarding medical and scientific support needs in key affiliated regional health systems accounts. * Serves as the internal medical subject matter expert for each national account, which enables strategic assessments and medical account management, through a complete and systematic communication process to the rest of USMA. * Maintains a macro view of the account to appropriately allocate our Company resources (e.g., human, technical) * Builds and develops breath and depth of relationships with key decision makers and can anticipate the account's population health management goals and needs * Provides customer insights to headquarters via the Voice of the Customer Pulse (VOCP) process. * Serves as a resource for the Health Systems Executive Director Medical Affairs and other members of managed markets organization on other relevant strategic planning. * Serves as a technical resource on questions raised by national accounts management and staff on our Company products. * Attends and supports scientific and medical meetings. Prepares planned post-meeting deliverables. Education Minimum Requirements * Advanced healthcare/science doctoral degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD) Required Experience and Skills * 5+ years field-based medical affairs experience: 2+ years of experience in a field-based medical affairs role working with regional and/or national payers or integrated delivery systems and associated account management functions and 3+ years of experience in a field-based medical affairs role working with scientific leaders (note: 10+ years of experience as a decision maker in the payer or integrated delivery system space can substitute for all but 1 year of field-based medical affairs experience) * Thorough knowledge of clinical medicine, US health care delivery system structure and function, pharmacoeconomics, population health management, quality management, value-based payment and health care delivery policy and trends. * Strong track record of effective medical account management and cross-functional account team collaboration and execution. * Formal training and strong working knowledge of health economics, real world evidence generation and outcomes research * Excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to network, strong personal integrity, collaborative mindset, and a strong customer focus are necessary. * Must possess a thorough understanding of the FDA, OIG, HIPAA and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry * Must be able to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment, and have demonstrated project leadership abilities.
