Purpose of Position

The position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the student conduct, behavioral education, and related compliance reporting processes for the University. These duties include, and are not limited to: investigating serious misconduct allegations of NKU Code of Community Standards and Student Rights serious misconduct; managing confidential and sensitive information in alignment with state and Federal laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), Kentucky medical cannabis implementation (SB 47/KRS CHAPTER 218A), and the Kentucky Campus Due Process Act (HB 290); serving as point of contact for the campus community related to these matters; educating the campus community related to these matters.

This position also supervises the training and support of hearing officers, university conduct board members, and may hear Administrative Hearing appeals. This position will also perform other duties as aligned with the NKU vision and mission.

Primary Responsibilities

Oversee the management of the Office of Student Conduct including, but not limited to: receiving incident reports, creating/updating/maintaining case records, investigating/adjudicating possible violations of the NKU Code of Community Standards and Student Rights, developing and supporting post-adjudication educational programming, overseeing the University Conduct Board hearing processes, developing/maintaining the relevant budget/programming initiatives, and serve as a resource for students, parents, administration, faculty, staff, and community members.

Coordinate the support of University Conduct Board faculty, staff, and student members

Organize and implement training(s) for hearing officers, university conduct board members on the NKU Code of Community Standards and Student Rights and serious misconduct related procedures (including, but not limited to: student conduct database system, student conduct process, case resolution procedures, etc.)

In collaboration with the Dean of Students, support departmental strategic planning, student learning and program assessment(s), and reviewing departmental procedures.

Develop individual, and maintain departmental, relationships with University Police, University Housing, Center for Student Engagement (including Fraternity and Sorority Life), Center for Student Inclusiveness, Student Counseling Services, Student Wellness, Legal Affairs, the Title IX Coordinator/investigators, and other campus partners to provide a holistic response to students and ensure university compliance.

Assist with oversight of Dean of Students case management software including and not limited to: developing/monitoring systems to track cases and outcomes to ensure compliance and training/supporting to campus partners utilizing software including and not limited to access management, orientation, training, user requests, and reporting.

Serve as a key member of the NKU Community Care Team, including leading the Behavioral Assessment Team meetings to initiate risk assessments and convene team meetings for emergency response to elevated student behavior.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in College Student Personnel/ Affairs, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field. Preferred Experience as a student conduct database software administrator; knowledge of Title IX case resolution regulations, Clery Act requirements, and student conduct administration best practices. Higher Education exp. preferred.

Very strong communication, interpersonal, and intercultural skills are required.
