Summary of Position

Red Rocks Community College is seeking applications for the Director of Workforce Services to be the driving force behind program management, operational leadership, and faculty support within our dynamic department. A successful candidate will serve in our central operational hub, supporting all new programs, and initiatives. As the Director, you'll also represent RRCC on academic, workforce, and community-based committees and projects, showcasing our commitment to excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

Provides operational management, leadership, and support for part-time and instructional staff in the Workforce Services department. Oversees/manages the research, production, and development of new programs and current processes for the department.

Supports the department and related programs with data analysis, programming, continuous improvement, marketing, and community outreach. Works with the RMEC Training Coordinator and Community Programs Coordinator to evaluate and assign instructional staff in non-credit trainings, certifications, and workshops targeted to adult learners. Collects, monitors, prepares, and uses data to inform workforce decision-making.

Supervises RMEC Adjunct instructors, hourly employees, work-study students, and contractors as needed. Manages the coordination and administration of the RRCC Faculty Non-credit Course Development Model.Cultivates relationships to help grow innovative workforce programs across diverse academic departments.Participates in committee work that promotes the goals of the division and college. Develops and implements responsive short-term trainings, adult workforce pipeline programs and services that meet regional needs.

Communicates with employers, industry, workforce, and community stakeholders. Represents the Workforce Services Department at events and regional councils.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and three years of professional experience in workforce development, including administrative and/or supervisory experience.

Education Substitution:A combination of education and directly related professional work experience (such as academic, higher education, workforce, or industry training environments) may be substituted on a year for year basis. Years of experience is in addition to any required years of experience for the position. Part time experience is prorated.

Preferred Education and Experience:Operational, budget, and data management experience in academic, higher education, workforce, or industry training environments. Experience working in diverse communities and supporting the success of individuals from racial, ethnic, and gender backgrounds that are underrepresented.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to work from campus (primarily our Lakewood campus with occasional hours at the Arvada campus). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to use data to inform decision-making and make recommendations. Proven ability to work in and build successful teams. Ability to interact, build relationships with, and communicate effectively in all settings (in-person, remotely, written, and verbal correspondences) with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Knowledge of student registration and higher education information management systems. Ability and skill with data analysis, visualization, or management software.

Physical and Cognitive Demands:The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.

  • This position operates in a standard office and/or classroom environment. Constantly uses a computer and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc. Requires the repetitious movement of hands, wrists, arms.

  • Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.

  • The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • Occasionally moves, positions, and transports equipment and supplies weighing up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment and Typical Work Schedule:Work is generally performed in a standard office environment. The office is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The position may require hours outside of regular office hours, and occasional weekend hours. Attendance at various off campus events and some travel may be required.

Starting Salary:Starting salary is determined by education and experience in accordance with our compensation plan.
